They should just give folks the stupid thousand points or whatever it is now with stuff people can do in the campaign and then just have secret zero-point achievements. That way you don't have so many people driving around to try and get the Mongoose achievement but you still get that tiny little reward when you do something neat.
Also, I'm pretty sure I'm taking this way too seriously.
My advice is to ignore the multiplayer achievements altogether because I feel that stuff is always bullshit. Don't have a Live Gold account? Too bad, you get to miss out on most of the achievements!
I personally don't care about achievements as it is, but multiplayer achievements other than "win this many games" always piss me off. They just encourage people to play like jerks and Xbox Live is crammed with them already.

The one thing is, they have to either be standing still or heading towards you, and the connection needs to be just so otherwise you'll glance off. So satisfying when you get it right though. All your momentum transfered into them.

It's annoying, though, if Game refuse to sell me ODST (our one has this one guy, the manager, that really enforces age restrictions), then I may not be able to get it until Saturday!

And do you know if you're timetable is empty for any day this coming week (this is Halo related), if so, you're coming down here and picking up ODST (I wonder how many people will have ODST as their tag...) if I can't.

I only felt that it warranted a spoiler as we are all being overly cautious with them at the moment (don't worry, I agree that he was wrong). And it is a full price gae, fifty pouds,not dollars. Fifty pounds is pretty expensive for a game here! Heck, I'm pretty sure ODST standard edition is only forty!

Thinking of my service tag, I might just go with a throwback to the days of Halo 2....
Also Tomcat and I are tearing up the Rocket Race right now.

Step 1) Get FyreWulff
Step 2) Memorize Halo 3 / 360 Menu's
Step 3) Change the 360 language to Moonspeak
Step 4) Change Lone Wolves setting to Prefer Best Connection
Step 5) Get matched with Fyre
Step 6) Run him over in a Mongoose.
Extermination is easy during Grifball, just wait for the mythic variant and bash your hammer one sec or two before the bomb explodes. It won't work every time, but you'll get it eventually.
Perfection? Fucking ridiculous. If anyone wants to get together and grind out that one, I'm game.

And any Mythic achievement can be obtained in social games; you could get a full team of Bees and easily get them. Hell, most of us did back in March and April.
I'll help grind for chievements with some of you bees, Seems like a good way to get my feet wet in the multi-player. As long as it's not DLC required chievements until after ODST drops.
I still need the Killtacular and Perfection. If I can't get them in the DEXP playlists after ODST arrives when everyone's fumbling around the new maps then I'll be up for cheesing them, I think.

The only two I really could use some help on are the Look Both Ways (Splatter spree on a legendary/mythic map) and Perfection ones, but I'm definately down for a night of achievement whoring with the new guys and the recent mythic owners (Willeth, I think?) if we can set it up ahead of time.

I still need Zombie Repeller and Delicious Brains... I don't play many infection gametypes, though.
Perhaps they will have another Living Dead Double EXP event near Halloween.

To be fair Kor, you guys did win 100 to 29.
Also, not gonna be on much until Tuesday; late work hours tonight (also seeing "Cloudy" afterwards), and a lot of homework tomorrow. But I planned it out so that I can just sit around and play ODST all of Tuesday outside of my two classes, so that'll make up for being busy the weekend beforehand.

I've also been updating the second post of the thread with whatever this week's DEXP is.
And I won't be able to do anything on Mythic until Monday when I get ODST. After that, though, I'm up for it.
I threw together that spreadsheet table thing for achievements. It doesn't include every achievement, but it's got the difficult disc ones and the map pack-specific ones - for example, it says N/A for Guardian when you can clearly get both Lee R Wilson Memorial and Fear The Pink Mist on it, but since you can get them on pretty much any map I've left them out because the image would then be so much bigger than it already is. If anyone spots any errors let me know.

While Look Both Ways is technically possible on Ghost Town I would love to see a film of anyone actually managing it legitimately.

Bungie does seem to like September, so it'd make sense, but I imagine it will be as full priced as ODST; being a new full game, new engine and all.

On the plus side, when I got a Kiltacular, on a Swords match, and unlocked 2 achevements I was trying to get for weeks, it was awsome.
