OK guys.

Also, Section 8 comes out for 360 and PC. Looks like it could be okay, I think initial previews were positive.

Guitar Hero 5 comes out for the consoles as per usual. I think there's a promotion going on where if you buy it you can get Guitar Hero: Van Halen for free, but I don't know the details.

PSP gets 2 potentially good games this week; both fighting games I believe. The first is Soul Calibur: Broken Destiny, which is from what I remember, is kind of like a version of Soul Calibur IV but with some new chars (like Kratos). Fate/UC is a download-only title which is a 2D fighting game by Capcom. That's all I know!

I dunno if that's sarcastic or not, but to be honest, I'm glad that it's simple and to the point. "This is Guitar Hero 5. Here are some of the artists."

It's better than the other shit that Actiblizz's marketing people have devised for their other music products' retail packaging..

Also I think if you reserve the game you get GH: Van Halen for free.

That's a good amount of content for $60.
Shitty thing is that the Wii version is $60 I THINK but I'm not sure. It is on Gamestop's website anway...

Yeah the Wii version of GH5 is listed at $60 at Best Buy as well.

And damn, Soul Calibur PSP snuck up on me. Too bad I'm not buying it until I have Dissidia and a few other games.

Edit: Also, Slash, your new avy is horrifying.

I haven't heard of any demos. Do you know anything about this game? I've noticed a little bit of buzz about the game but I haven't read any details about it or previews.

Hmm.. According to the developer, Section 8 is supposed to be an online-centric, team based multiplayer FPS in which you have multiple classes or customizeable loadouts and stuff.

the developer referenced TF2 and L4D as being the kind of sub-genre they're shooting for, or so he said.

I'm still not convinced that Muramasa's Gamestop date is correct.

Exhibit A: Everyone and I mean EVERYONE else thinks its the 8th.

Exhibit B: The Ignition "get it before you can buy it" party at the Nintendo World Store in New York is on the 5th.

Why are you guys bent that GH5 Wii is $60? Why should Wii game prices not be at parity with the other consoles?

Because each manufacturer set a standard price at the beginning of this generation and we'd appreciate that they stick to it. I'd be just as bothered if, say, Actiblizz decided to ask $70 for GH5 on the PS3 or 360.

For a different reason/explanation, Wii games cost substantially less to develop than their HD counterparts for a huge variety of reasons.

There's apparently supposed to be a code printed on the back of the Guitar Hero 5 manual that you put into their site to have them send you a copy of Van Halen.

It sounds like a total clusterfuck but you'll probably end up with a free game. Eventually.

Just curious: How come you don't have the box art for Mini Ninjas in your post? I tried the demo of it and it was okay. Not great, but not bad either.

AaaaaAAaaaAAAaaAAAAaAAAAA!!! - A Reckless Disregard for Gravity comes out on Steam this week. I don't really know a lot about it, but it's a great title.

EDIT: Slash, your new avatar is HA HA HAmazing.

Yeah I played the PS3 demo and it seemed like a decent kids game. Weird that it's from IO Interactive though (Hitman and Kane & Lynch developers).

Anyway, this week I'll be getting Batman: Arkham Asylum and my imported copy of Professor Layton and Pandora's Box. Yay!

Not this week? :( I preordered it and everything(wallscroll!). Ah well.

And I'm not sure, but probably nowhere near as long as Odin Sphere(60 hours for that, maybe).
