Abandoned piglet is lost and hound: Giant farm dog saves baby pig's bacon by adopting it as one of its own

    article00645ad0a000005d.jpg

    article12109090645acfa0.jpg
A giant farm dog and a tiny piglet cuddle up as if they were family after the baby runt was dismissed by its own mother.

Surrogate mum Katjinga, an eight-year-old Rhodesian Ridgeback, took on motherly duties for grunter Paulinchen - a tiny pot-bellied pig - and seems to be taking the adoption in her stride.

Lonely Paulinchen was luckily discovered moments from death and placed in the care of the dog who gladly accepted it as one of her own. Thankfully for the two-week old mini porker, Katjinga fell in love with her at first site and saved her bacon.

man what does that even mean

like, instead of creeping up to you and just hang out, they'd instead slowly eat your intestines while you slept?

    I don't know, it's an irrational fear!

glaciers must freak you right the fuck out.

Slowly sliding across the landscape, carving a path out of the ruined lives of its victims who can do little but watch the icy apocalypse unfold.

see, you say it like that and now I can never look at the m the same way

As death looms, you are faced with a terrible choice. Do you submit to the glacier, or do you stand defiantly in its path with a blowtorch?

everything about this is backwards! Usually people who own pigs are encouraged to keep their dogs far away from the pigs because the dogs would gobble them up

Little Scooter scarpers to the great kennel in the sky
Scooter, a dog so small he could sit in a teacup, has died.

At six-months-old, the Maltese pup was claimed to be the smallest dog in the world. He was going to try for the official world record when he turned one.

But he never got the chance.

He broke his leg jumping out of the hands of a minder earlier this week. His tiny leg was put in a cast but the medication he was given for it caused stomach ulcers and he did not survive.

But it was not for want of trying. The vets caring for Scooter took him home with them while he was being treated, getting up in the middle of the night to check on him.

"They were amazing, they tried so hard," said owner Cheryl McKnight.

The 8cm tall, 20cm long dog is now buried in his shoebox at the bottom of his owner's Gisborne garden in New Zealand.
