Weird: I just went into Trial of the Champion for the first time ever. At level 78. And there was a 77 and 79 in the group as well. And we still killed Black Knight, except 3 of us died on the attempt.

Blah: Nothing dropped I could use at 80, two plate drops, but I greed rolled to win one and sold it for profit.

ToChampion normal isn't hard if you understand the mechanics of the fights. I also think it does a pretty good job of explaining those mechanics ingame. Other 80 instances aren't that clear when you do them the first time (HoS comes to mind)

On the other hand, I once did it with 3 guildies and a random tank that forgot to reequip his weapon after the first part and couldn't move out of the green stuff (and that meant that we melee dps also had to stand in the green stuff). So the other extreme is also true: if the healer is good enough, you can do it with retards.

Reversal from my previous post here: I think I'm going to throw out my WoW discs instead of contemplate reinstalling. I should find other things to do, outdoors things or musical things! WoW is great fun and all, but I often play it to an unhealthy extent.

It was too long! I took it off a while ago and forgot.

So the guild leader told me that he wanted to try out some of the new people tonight. I told him to take them on a fucking farm night then, because tonight is a progression night and I show up to every god damn progression night and now I miss out on the rewards of a successful progression night. And that pisses me the fuck off.

I feel your pain there... atleast your RL should of asked you first. Anytime we are giving a test run my RL will whisper someone and ask if they would mind stepping out ahead of time... usually the most geared since 99% of the time they will. I would of been nerd raging in your position...

Happy: I got subbed last night!!! :D:D god it felt good to log out at a decent time and have time to crawl into bed and watch a movie and get snuggles <3<3

Boo: Got a text, "OMG we need you! so and so's PC died! HAP" about an hour after I logged.

Hate: Faction Champs 25 heroic. We just can't seem to get them all.... our best attempt we killed the rogue and the warrior and Druid but by then majority of us are dead and the shaman healer is going wild. Then other attempts it seemed they start to focus fire on CC'ers. No one can survive a Warrior, Hunter, Ret Pally and Rogue.... no one....

HATE: So one of my new recruits was throwing together a NAxx10 run for 'lol badges', as a courtesy she sends out invites to everyone in the guild. Two of my other members start flipping out that they are being dragged into something like this so late at night. They felt that they should have been 'asked beforehand if they wanted to go.' One of them claims they formed this guild to avoid getting dragged into late night raids, and the other is complaining that the new recruit of ours is 'too intense'.

Note: I've known this person for awhile, they aren't intense at all, they like raiding not in any hardcore sense. When one of them said 'Can't do it, I have to leave soon.' and she replied with 'Just come for as long as you can.' This is not a 'Won't take no for an answer' situation.

Sweet jesus, I wanted to scream at the two of them to get their panties out of a knot and just fucking say 'I can't' next time. Its fucking Naxx10, its not like you'll miss out on upgrades if you don't go, and we can always set one up for next week.

Hope: They can calm the fuck down, and realize they were getting upset over nothing. I've lived with these two (roommates) for over a year, it still dumbfounds me that they would get this worked up over nothing.

This is the definition of a 'Won't take no for an answer' situation. The guy said no, and the inviter wouldn't take that as an answer.

I hope you guys are ready for this.

Sounds like they're trying to passively replace you.

You've either pissed someone off or they don't think you're performing well.

That, or they have no common sense. Normal guilds don't bring anything but their best composition to progression attempts.

The thing is that these guys we brought in from the dead guild are pretty good. They were clearing 10m H ToC after the guild fell apart (it was a 25 man guild).

As for my own performance, that's another rant for another day.
Though I've made me feelings pretty clear in the Warrior thread

Or maybe it was a 'its ok if you need to leave early, its just a trash emblem run' situation.

If he didn't want to go at all, the correct response when asked if you want to go is, 'No thanks, I don't want to go'. The other answer could rightly be interpreted as 'I have interest in going, but since I have to leave soon I don't want to waste other people's time because I have to leave'.

I mean, I don't think one comment when there is some possible vagueness is worth getting all worked up over.

I have to disagree here, because its not as though the invited is without recourse in this situation. You just follow back with 'I really can't.', I know this works because someone else in the guild said this very thing and it was dropped there.

The point of a statement like 'Just come for as long as you can.' is meant to indicate that you'd like to have them along and don't care if they have to fill the spot after only a little while.

Seriously, when did society become so passive that having to turn someone down is a major situation.

When someone says "No" the proper response is not "Oh come on, let's go" the proper response is "OK thanks for the response, maybe next time."

Absolutely, but you throw out a half-hearted "I can't, I have to go soon." when you mean "No"; surprisingly these statements are not identical.

Except they didn't just say no. They qualified it. So some extra clarification was thrown in by the person asking.

This is not state-level diplomacy here, it's common dialog skills. Or typing skills I suppose.

I say "no" a lot, and then in response I get a "ur mean" or "ur rude" or any number of responses where the person is still trying to get me to do something with/for them. The "I can't, I don't think I have time" response is about the only one that gets people to back off. Not sure how I would react if not even that worked for me.

Except that your statement is affirmative, you do not have the time

Where as the statement was "I can't, I have to log off soon." which is indefinite.

Also that's a fair approach when dealing with random puggers, but this person is actually a guild member, you can probably just be straight with them. If it blows up (I assure you it would not), then the asker was in the wrong and will have to be dealt with.

I reported someone outright (I even opened a ticket and spoke to a GM to make sure that person got his/her name changed).

I remember a rather fun discussion I had with a Danish female guildie who had just created an alt. I had to have a quiet word with her and suggest that she might want to delete it immediately and make a fresh one now, to save a lot of hassle in the long run. She genuinely didn't have a clue why.

In complete innocence, she had made an alt named "Buggery".

How do you actually go about reporting a name? I bring up the GM help/request thing, and I can never find a specific choice for that. Do you just submit a generic ticket that says "I saw so and so with the name DirtyClam.. this offends me greatly" ?

Happy: Guild was having issues with Thorim 25, were not progressing past the 2nd gauntlet boss being pulled. The first time we got it down and hit phase 3 we dropped Thorim as a guild first. Tried Freya after and had a pretty good attempt but ran out of time.

Hope: Toc25 goes well Sunday, we can do up to Valks pretty easily, but then too much orb damage wipes us.

Meh: My troll of sincerely arguing that Mr Chilly is a welfare penguin for scrubs vs those of us that worked for our one true demonic penguin overlord is not getting as much of a rise as I hoped. Maybe on the weekend

Yep. Generic ticket, except mine was worded something along the line of:

"Level 80 warrior spamming trade chat for a VoA pug at [time]. Name: Dirtyclam. I've lost my faith in humanity at this point."

Edit: Since I didn't mention it earlier, I ended up reporting him since he was being a total asshat in chat...

Hate: I bought the regular T9 Chestplate (50 badges, no trophy requirement) and then within an hour of said purchase, I go auction browsing and see someone put up the Sunforged Breastplate plans. Sure, it would take me a bit longer to make it because I didn't have the badges (nor a 10 heroic or 25 man guild regularly running ToC to roll on Crusader Orbs) but it's the principle. It still feels like I wasted badges.

Happy: So I bought the Sunforged Bracers instead because I was still wearing some Naxx25 piece or something.

Hate: The lack of good healer maces outside of Naxx. I had the one from Naxx10, our guild's stopped running 25 so I never got the Torch or Turning Tide. Ulduar 10 drops crap for healing MH unless you're a priest (daggers, staves) shaman (daggers, staves) or druid (staves, daggers?). WTF? I had to resort to upgrading with the one from heroic ToC 5-man, while everyone else I see is sporting an over 521 spellpower item.

Heh, I wish. I recently re-activated my account a couple of weeks ago, so I've been playing catch-up. I rejoined my old guild, but they've lost a lot of members lately, and I'm also no longer on the raiding A-list because my gear's fallen behind. So I'm relegated to the guild's Ulduar 10 runs which seem really boring considering 10-man ToC is faster and drops better gear. I've even shown myself capable of healing it when I joined a guild's run as a pick-up and got the achievement.

So on that note, hope: to get into the guild's 10 man ToC on Saturday.

Speaking of names, I saw a dwarf named Redpubes. Level 50 and still not banned so far. I didn't bother reporting because there's frankly more offensive names out there, and I want to see this guy go all the way to 80. :)
