Router Loses DNS Server after inactivity

So, just as the title says, my router (a Linksys WRT54G with DD-WRT v24 micro firmware) seems to lose the ability to make new DNS queries after so only about 2 or 3 minutes of not making a new one. This just started overnight and I have no idea why, as nothing was changed. If I reset the router, it will act fine for a time and then start doing it again. Plugging directly into the modem (a Linksys WCG200, which is also a router, but I disabled the router part of it in favor of my own router) always works. I still have internet activity however, as I can visit websites I had been to when everything is working correctly, and I can also make new connections directly to IPs (including torrents).

There seems to be no set interval for this.

I am completely stumped.

Do you have the router set to acquire DNS servers automatically, or have you given it some to use as default?

It's automatic, though I've tried to take the ones it automatically grabs and set my PC and it to have them as static just in case there's some weird confusion going on, but to no avail. Releasing and renewing always grabs the same two so I figured I'd play with that, but :(

I think I might have figured out something, though I don't know why it only now would have been a problem instead of the year or so I've had this router- I was set to a maximum of 512 IP connections and uTorrent was arbitrarily set to 600, so maybe it was hitting the ceiling of IP connections and wouldn't go to new websites because of that. I suppose that would look identical to being unable to make new DNS queries, wouldn't it. After watching the number of IP connections, I'm pretty far past 512 right now with just 1 torrent running. Maybe I fixed it?
