I don't know a lot of people / have many friends that actually play fighting games. I have a lot of friends that are really into shooters, sports games, MMOs, western RPGs, and racing games... but for some reason I find it hard to find people that are really, truly into this genre. I guess part of it is that it's a niche genre? I have one really good friend who is into Street Fighter, Brawl, and MVC2. And then my younger bro is really into GGXX but he kind of stopped playing it.. Other than that, nothing. I've tried introducing my other friends to fighting games, but they can't stand 2D fighters, and only prefer 3D fighters because that way they can mash buttons with the result of their character flipping out and doing cool shit on screen (See: Soul Calibur games, Tekken games). Blah. I don't like 3D fighting games.

That's mostly because shooters and 3D fighting games are often alot more straight forward to play.
Though you're not going to beat someone who practiced for months at tekken 6 straight away.
Most of my friend are from the PC gamers crowd. *sigh*

Yeah I suppose they're more straightforward to play. I suppose initially. But I still feel like there are a lot of skills that you really have to work on, and a lot of strategies and certain higher level skills. Like learning hitscan, learning to lead with projectiles, utilize splash damage, and so forth. You start out a shooter and you get your ass kicked. Then you get better at controlling it, and start learning progressively advanced techniques that build upon themselves. So on a basic level it's not much different than a fighting game. You start out sucking, get used to controlling it, then start building upon your technique. But even so, I suppose that running around like a chicken with its head cut off shooting a rocket launcher is some how more satisfying in general for a newbie than flopping around back and forth and being combo'd into a pulp in a fighting game?
Anyway, my friends are largely PC gamers too. It's just that some of them also have consoles. I only have a couple of console-only buddies, as most of my friends are primarily PC but also with console.
I haven't actually gotten to play the copy I bought during the Steam sale (all I have is a laptop at university) but I'm a 5' 9'' Puerto Rican.
And Dan was born in Hong Kong.
When you play it you get to be counted. Not before.
I refuse to race war until I can get good with Juri. She's my girl.

What if she turns out to be an incredibly hard combo character with no ultra setups and bad ex moves?
Well, from what we've seen so far, that doesn't seem to be the case, but it's a possibility. Their track record with the new challengers hasn't been all too good. I think maybe C. Viper is the only one that's anywhere on the tier list. I'd have to believe that they've learned a lot in the first game and that this one's going to be a bit better balanced with that knowledge.
I wouldn't be surprised actually, thinking about it. The Japanese dicking over the Koreans? STOP THE PRESSES.
But I have to hope man. HOPE. We have an oreo president. Anything is possible.

I stand corrected. It's late.
I'm biased as a Fuerte player but I think he's a pretty decent character overall.
I never thought about it before, but I'm Danish (a nationality not represented in Street Fighter) and I play Bison, a character not tied to a specific country.
Maybe Juri will play a lot like Kim from KOF and totally fucking rule.
I once beat down 8 people at an arcade on one quarter with Kim and it was oh-so-satisfying.
Go Team Korea!

From the videos I've seen for some reason she makes me think of a 2D Hwaorang.

I thought you were some sort of alligator. Or is it crocodile? I can never tell with you aussie types.
I'm 6'1" and I think I do just fine for myself.
It's certainly a two-sided race so far.
We should have a race war tournament. You're only allowed to play a character of your race. Teams will be divided by race.

Shady, you also forgot Dictator. He should probably be under "Rest of the World."

It's the final challenge of rank 4(Normal).
Do the heavy shoouken and cancel into the super before you get airborne.
edit: Just tried it out myself. The heavy Shoouken has 3 hits, you need to do the super motion before the third hit.
