Whoa you made an EoE thread Aroduc? Actually that doesn't surprise me.
You're insinuating something here.
I still haven't really figured out enough about the battle system to make a real call. I'm still not really sure why people jump everywhere, even when the enemies are nowhere near them.
Do they need to jump and spin around to fire their guns? The fat bad guys just pointed and shot, no cartwheels or backflips or 1080 quarterwheelies. Just kinda lifted their arm and pulled the trigger.

Going from the footage I've seen it looks like you can choose how you move. I'm guessing they're using the jump option a lot for whatever reason (flashiness/showing off the system).
If you can deduce something from the commentators in that video it'd be much appreciated.
The second combat video seems a lot better than the one in the OP, but the fights still seems to be really slow. And the random shooty-flips and stuff don't really naturally flow from/into other flippy-shots or regular movement at times, which is kind of jarring when that's what they're always doing.
But tri-Ace is super awesome and character dressup is honestly pretty much enough to sell me on the game with no further questions asked.

The most intelligent thing I remember them saying is one of them asking what that message was on the side of the screen and the other saying it was an item. They're just dicking around and going "cool" or "oh, you shot a wall," and similar.
That weapon customization looks pretty hot. Dynamic clothes changing is also good. The director confirmed no bikini or revealing clothes for the female character, for anyone fearing wacky japanese hijinx. That's a good plus.
The battle tutorial however really shows how the game is played.
I cannot wait for the demo now. Leader Assault is in, I wonder if that means VP2 style quick battle endings if you defeat the leader first?
Outfit changes that carry over into cutscenes is very cool, and I wish more RPGs would do this. The gun customization is also interesting, though there wasn't enough to say what kind of effect changing the position of say, the magazine does. Looks like you got a set amount of attachment points though.
I still think the flipping about is hilarious, like they were attached to some whacked out physics rigs, especially Vashyron and his shoulder bounce

Never heard of this game until now, but color me interested. I'm all for over the top Gun-Fu, and this seems to have it in spades. It actually reminds me of the Shadowrun game I'm in, so that's cool. Plus, seeing a flippy Alicia shooting the crap out of enemies sounds too good to pass up. Hopefully the male characters will have a Welkin costume.

You know at first I wasn't really hyped for the game(I mean it was still going to be day one because its a decent looking JRPG for the 360), but the more I see of it the more I like.
Though I do hope we fight more human enemies than they've shown. That's always been a failing in a lot of JPRGs I play. They go for a "realistic" setting, then you spend half the game slapping around slimes.

It does have mafioso-like enemies and other human types from what I've seen. It looks the closest they'll get to monsters of most other jrpgs is mechanized mutants or just plain old robots.
Q4 Japan. Unknown 2010 for US/Europe. Tri-Ace's stuff has had weird localization schedules lately, especially for its 360 games. 3-6 months is probably a safe bet, although since Sega's producing instead of SE, who knows.

Interview with the director and producer. Doesn't really say much, although I kind of rolled my eyes at the whole FATE thing and that the entire game takes place in a giant evil tower. Gee. Where have we seen either of those things before?

Hmm, never heard of this, but from everything I've seen I'll buy it on release.
-Gun play! Finally a JRPG that does away completely with swords.
-Cutscenes reflect character equipment!
-Tri-Ace weapons customization! I want to make a one-shot kill beginner's pistol! Either that or play out my MG42 fantasy...
I didn't really understand anything in that preview so I've chosen to believe that at one point they were using the towers elevator as a selling point for the game, which is amazing.
You see, End of Eternity will have an "epic rpg adventure that stretches over sixty hours." What the back of the box doesn't tell you is that the main plotline is as long as Modern Warfare 2, and that 50 hours of the game are dedicated to getting your hairbands and t-shirts just so.
The sense of scale in the game is insane. I said wow at those environments, the lighting, the shadow work, jesus. Best looking game tri-Ace has put out yet. God damn.
I also appreciate the vast range of clothing, relative to probably every other JRPG out there. After spending 40-60 hours saving the world in the same clothing, it must stink like hell.

But how badass can you be while wearing a t-shirt with "Love Me" written on it.

How can you not be bad ass while wearing a t-shirt with "Love Me" written on it?

Wasn't there some bad PSP game where you have to fight your way out of a tower?

Yeah, pretty much sold right now.
I like Tri-Ace rpgs... the ones I've actually played anyways.

Are their shoulders made of trampolines?

Anyone want to beta read a paranormal mystery novella? Here's your chance.

I only hope that you can eventually build a pistol with so many accessories that it takes up all those empty grid spaces you could see in that video.
Won't stop the fanart. :P

75% of all JRPGs since the start of time?

And yeah, those maps are weird and large for being what I think they are.
Also, 'Still Alive' needs to stay in.
