I'm Vancouver BC resident, and I'm looking to find some gaming outside of my own home. I've heard some good things about Jimz Gamers Lounge, but never been so just looking for some input on what kind of place it is. I get it has some gaming stations and the like, but is it just a drop by and play style, or is everything booked in advance.
Also, any other suggestions for a gaming/book minded person to get out of his home would be greatly appreciated. I'm not looking for a Cavedweller's Guide Daylight or anything, just a few places that are nice.
If not, don't worry about it! I can always try it blind as well, that's sometimes fun.
If you are looking for board games. I know that Strategies (around 22nd and Main) in Van does a board game nights on Fridays starting at 6. I have recently started going, its a lot of fun. They have a ton of open games for people to play. Here is their website http://www.strategiesgames.ca/.
I'll second Strategies, they have a really nice shop that doesn't give that "geek dungeon" vibe. Drexoll Games is another good one from what I remember. Edit: Never heard of Jimz so I can't give you any advice for that one, it's pretty far away from where I used to live in Vancouver.

Seconding Drexoll Games. The one in Poco was pretty cool.
Descendant X on
Garry: I know you gentlemen have been through a lot, but when you find the time I'd rather not spend the rest of the winter TIED TO THIS FUCKING COUCH!
OP, do you live out in the burbs or in Vancouver proper? I live out in the area Jimz is in, and its going to be way out of your way to go there if you don't already frequent the area. Transit to and from the Tri-Cities to Vancouver is pretty lame too.

Again thanks for your time!
Pretty much my house seems to be the place everyone I know hangs out :P
We only really play Rock Band with any regularity though, oh and I guess some wrestling/UFC games. If you find somewhere good let me know.
