I'm still at a loss for how most of the stats work. I'm thinking I'll probably pick the game up near the end of the week. Being poor sucks.
Man, I've been trying to make my stats work for me, but all they do is just sit on my character sheet and look pretty. Such lazy bastards.*

Mainly just what the stats actually do and how they affect your character. That and trying to figure out what stats affect what powers and why certain powers scale with certain stats.
Well, I'm not sure if I can make it clearer, since I don't know any of the exact forumlas (I don't know if they've been released/anyone has said if they have found out) but in essence damage is done by whatever two superstats you choose are. Then there are just a couple of exceptions:
1) Melee abilities get an extra boost from strength (I believe Akinos or another dev said it isn't twice, and this extra bonus caps out at some number) but essentially you get a little extra boost from equipping/stating for strength for melee abilities
2) It specifically says so (such as passive abilities)
Other than that, the rest is pretty standard rpg stuff. For some example, dex increases the amount of damage you can avoid, and your crit chance. Ego affects the damage when you do crit. Strength affects your chance to knockback someone and how much you can lift, etc.

So despite the lack of chef themed superheroing I went ahead and bought it already. I saw some screenshots that gave me an even better idea for a character that I'm going to make as soon as I'm done installing. Hopefully I can keep my cats off the keyboard as I'm playing.

You can apparently get a "temporary credit card" number from paypal if that was what you were thinking, but since I don't use paypal that often I don't know the details.

As for action figure for previous outage. It was/is for lifetime members instead of getting a day added onto their account subscription like everyone else got.
The only card I have is a prepaid mastercard debit card.
But I've got no money left in the bank, so wheeeeeeee. I can't ring support, because they don't have an Australian one, and fuck if I'm going to spend $20 on a long distance phone call.

I'm level 19 now and having a helluva time soloing in the robot theme park. I really want to like this guy, but I'm getting frustrated. Please, someone tell me things will get better, I-ive started thinking about making an Iron man clone

I played this game way too much today. Seems fun, I do miss the starting city levels from City of Heroes with muggers and colorful games etc.
I also wonder at the last appeal of this game. That character planner makes the skill tree look pretty shallow.
Given that the skill tree is really more like a skill cluster of many available skills, i'm pulling my hair out trying to figure what to take and how they're going to balance it all.

I haven't used the other defensive passives much, but I have used PFF a lot, and from what I gather, unless you commit to it, it is less useful as a basic pull from any powerset.
In otherwords if you are looking for a passive to slot at rank 1 with no other advantages or supporting powers, than PFF is probably not one of the best choices.

Well, I hate to say it, but you don't have a whole lot of synergy there. PFF is somewhat gimped at the moment (because it uses premitigation numbers), and its max shield health is based on your END (although you did super ego which is what its regeneration is based off of). Storm Sigils are considered pretty weak, hopefully they'll get bumped up a bit soon. Eldritch Blast is great... with its advantage that requires a hold which you don't seem to have (get Sorcerer's Whim and just tap bolts for big damage on held targets). Force Blast does basically the same thing as bolts but without the nifty advantage. Chain Lightning and Life Drain get mixed reviews but I haven't played with either very much.
To keep in theme, the biggest thing you can do to help yourself is pick up a hold ASAP. Taser Arrow or Electrocute would be my top two for you (the latter probably fits your theme more). Condemn also works but is likely to get hit hard by a nerf bat soon. Hold the mobs, tap Eldritch Bolts, profit; the "double damage" for held mobs is actually flat damage that greatly benefits from tapping rather than charging. Then you just need some AoE -- which you have a number of options for. You could take spark storm (and possibly Ionic Reverberation along with it to synergize with Sparkstorm and CL), which works extremely well and is what I use on my current character. With sparkstorm you can advantage it to make it a toggle, and with Ionic Reverberation you can toggle it on and use CL to basically AoE and refill your energy bar at the same time. You could take Sigils of Arcane Runes for the closest magic equivalent of mini-mines. You could take Skarn's Bane or Invocation of Storm Calling if they are open to you, both of which I've heard good things about.
