Oddly enough, I still have the turning keys bound to S and F, but I don't have strafe keys bound. Instead, I always strafe by holding the right mouse button and using the turning keys, which makes them strafe then.
Why don't more people use Sacred Cleansing in Raiding?
My BFF is a druid tank and magic usually hits him hard so I picked it up and sincerly ever since I got it, I've fallen hard for this talent. I didn't even need to modify my build that much for it. Sucks that it only procs some of the time though.
Anyways it's my opinion that it's like Peanut butter in my chocolate.
So does that actually increase all their magic resistance? or just their resistance to having cleansable debuffs put on them?
I've never really thought it worth it in PVE.
Yeah while Ive had generally good luck on heroics on my 80's I have found that the pugs <80 are pretty terrible. I think I'm just gonna quest on through.
Just make sure you take a bit to practice the 969 rotation once you hit 75 and actually have Shield of Righteousness.
It seems a bit weird but once you practice it for a bit, you'll get a lot better. Because of my keybindings I'm actually doing a fair bit of finger gymnastics in mine, but eh.
v r g w 4 r v w g r 4, etc. one after another once you get going
v is Consecrate, r is HotR, g is Holy Shield, w is SoR, 4 is Judgement (of Light, 3 is of Wisdom, I use whichever).
Edit: Oh yeah! I also have a pretty amazing mod called Inline Auras, that puts information right on the screen buttons themselves. So when I hit Holy Shield, it'll show a big white number in the middle of the Holy Shield button on my bar that counts down to show time remaining on the buff and the number of charges/hits left. Similarly the Judgement key shows how much time is left on the judgement debuff on my target. It works for all classes too.
So my Shaman's Flame Shock key will count down showing me the time left on the Flame Shock debuff on my target so I can refresh it just as it falls off, for example. It's pretty damn useful as I do look at my buttons themselves quite a lot on my classes in order to catch things right as they come off of cooldown. So if they can show me other needed information like that, all the better.
Turns out CLCRet also does prot abilities so you get an enlarged picture wherever you put it on your UI. It doesn't put number cooldowns, but it keeps track of what priority order you want to set your skills to and monitors your skills in that order.
If you want to use something like that.

Very few bosses put cleansable debuffs on tanks, which, if you're a paladin, is probably what you're healing in a raid.
if you're doing heroics or trash, there are more debuffs being thrown around, but trash is pretty trivial as it is...if you need that talent to heal magical damage on trash, you suck.
but it all depends on what talents you give up to get that talent. I can't be bothered looking at the build but it may be that he hasn't given up much.

Honestly, I don't think this would be terribly useful to me. It's not a complex priority system or anything, as far as Prot goes. I think it's just better that I learned and got comfortable with the proper method, which allows me to drop parts (Consecrate basically) when necessary.
It might be useful to me for the Ret part, but eh. I don't Ret much and I know how it's supposed to go, there just might be times when I use an ability out of priority order over another occasionally.
Yeah, it's just something to visually show you what abilities will be coming off cooldown and takes into consideration your spell priority. Just something nice to have on the screen when you're doing a bunch of other stuff, and I noticed it also works when I'm tanking. *shrug*
Is there a good mod that lets you keep track of your buffs (for a holy paladin), I need something that will let me easily keep track of when my beacon of light and sacred shield. Preferably in a bar format like DBM uses.
I use needtoknow.
I have a set of bars for my proc buffs like Holy Judgement, Light's Grace and Infusion of Light, and then two other sets of bars to watch Beacon and SS on my target and on my focus. You can set it to watch for all instances of that buff or just ones you've cast yourself. So I have it only show my beacon, but anyone's SS. I have asked the author to add the ability to distinguish your buffs from other people, and he's thinking about how he'll do it.
It's pretty neat. It has dual spec profiles now too.
I have it set to do the following:
SS on target --> Health Bar turns Gold, SS Icon (with timer cycling on it) on there Health Bar
Beacon --> Health Bar turns Magenta, Magenta border appears on target, Beacon Icon (with timer cycling on it) on there Health Bar
If I beacon and SS the same target, SS takes priority, but the border added by Beacon remains visible. Forte Xcorcist (sp?) Would also provide visual timers for the spells if you are more concerned with tracking exact duration and less concerned with who is packing which buff.

Wait, the author is alive? I thought NTK hadn't been updated in like a year.
I'm not a big fan of NTK for watching Beacon and SS, though, as I'm rarely targeting a group member (usually targeting a mob), and setting it to monitor my focus target only helps if I'm always beaconing my focus (sometimes I need to switch up my focus or whom I'm beaconing). There's at least one specific addon for keeping track of Beacon/SS, regardless of whom you're targeting and whom you've casted them on, but I don't remember what it's called.
ok I just dinged 80 on my pally and I'm about to start gearing up my tank shiznits when I am finally able to pug random heroics (can't even queue ToC Reg wtf!?) are their any badge items that are a priority? Are the t9 set bonuses worth it or should I just go for the piece meal stuff with higher ilvl?

thanks as usual duders.
Get T9, the 2pc set bonus is worth it for heroics and the 4pc is alright in heroics but totally awesome in raids.
Get the 75-emblem nonset helm, though, it's better.
I have a sweet Crusader Aura macro. It's essential.
This will, with one click, put you on a flying mount in Outland/Northrend, and switch to your Crusader Aura. In the old world or Dalaran (or any other flying-prohibited area like Battlegrounds), it'll give you a land mount and still do the aura. Click it again to turn Ret Aura on and get off the mount. The line with [mod:shift] is for still being able to ride a land mount in Wintergrasp (you'll have to hold in shift when you click it). Replace mount names or auras as desired. The icon for "Summon Charger" always seems to be the most fitting one. Uses dang near every character, but is nice to be able to do all that without an addon.
I'm a Retribution Paladin. What head/shoulder enchantments should I be putting on my Tier 9 gear? Are the exalted vendor ones the best? Currently exalted with everybody in Northrend except Knights of the Ebon Blade, but will have them soon.
Cool. I'm going to grab the off-set helmet and enchant that once I'm exalted. Thanks!
I'm very jealous about the inscription enchantments and wish jewelcrafters could add sockets to rings/necklaces.
You only need to be revered with Ebon Blade to get the head enchant. Exalted is only required for the best Hodir enchant, but it's not a huge amount better than the much quicker/cheaper to get Honored enchant. Alternatively, you can use the Wintergrasp shoulder enchant, which only loses 10 crit rating vs. the Hodir enchant.
Also, the inscription enchantments kind of suck for most specs. The tank one is bad, and most the others aren't as good as the ones that let you pick which bonus stats you get (JC, Blacksmithing, uh, that's it I think?). Especially for the Strength using DPS classes, the AP bonuses from Inscription, Leatherworking, Enchanting, etc. aren't as good as the additional Strength you can get from JC or Blacksmithing.
Power Aura's Classic: This lets you set up some pretty specific user defined graphics. For example; if I'm in my holy spec, and I cast Beacon of Light, I get these kinda awesome yellow pillars that flank my character. When they go away I know to cast Beacon again. And it's set up so that it only tracks my beacon, and it can track it on anyone in the raid. On the Ret side of the house I have it set up so that while certain abilities are on cooldown, I see tiny symbols above my toon's head. I also have it set to show flashing swords when Art of War procs.
Ice Hud: This is the second one I use, and I conceder it necessary to PvP: All it does is move my health bar and mana bar towards the center of the screen. It's got more utility than that, but that's what I use it for the most
And finally I just use one of the many frame editors (I've tried them all) to rearrange my party/raid frames.
If you're a paladin and not using PallyPower, you make kittens cry. Yeah, if there's just one pally in the raid or two, it's not a big deal, but when there's a few it really helps keep track of blessings.

and its not even about "oh I don't need some stupid addon to keep track of my blessings I have a good memory"
The biggest advantage of pallypower isn't helping the paladins bless. The biggest advantage of pallypower is that, at a glance, it shows all setup blessings, all current blessings, and gives you a rough idea how long it is before you need to rebless. It also helps the raid leader hugely.
Eh, I'm a healer so I'm constantly targeting people. I can see what state their buffs are in. I have stacks of symbols on me, so I usually rebuff before each boss pull anyway. And our RL uses BigBrother so he can see what shape buffs are in.

the advantage to the raid leader is not being able to see the buffs, but being able to see who is supposed to be doing them, so when the guy doing kings doesn't rebuff, and people start saying "where's our kings??", instead of the RL saying "who is doing kings?" *silence* "who is doing kings!!!?!?", he can just say "oi, paladin X, stop sucking ass"

There's the 213 ones that are available for Valor emblems. They're boe so you can buy them too. Usually run about 600g. I don't know if those are more or less doodooey than what you have.

Also if you don't already have an epic shield get this thing.

Yes, but for the price you can get a lot more bang for your badges these days.
