I was on a pub for a bit last night, and kept having people ask me how I got the halo.
I wonder how much of the TF2 population never, ever reads the TF2 blog or participates on a forum.
Truly they are the blessed.
Except they should know because it TELLS you why you got a halo as soon as you turn on the game if you are eligible for one.
So it means they don't really read the blogs or the forums, but they did manage to use the idler. Or they can't read. I'm never quite sure.
I don't think it shows up until you check your backpack. And... I doubt everyone goes looking at their backpack all the time without some sort of notification of a new item.
OH IT COMPUTES ALRIGHT. CAUSE MY SHOTGUN WILL BE BLOWING IN YOUR FACE!
Speaking of shotguns, I had a relatively decent run as an offensive engineer last night, on Granary. Drop sentries in wacky spots, run around shotgunning bitches. Sometimes it works rather well, I was in the top 3 spots for points in the first round! Yay offensive engies.
I hope the PDQ wrench goes live soon.
Eventually I had to go pyro to deal with some tandem medics, but it was fun while it lasted.
Tandem medics actually working again is pretty god damn hilarious. Just sayin'
It was pretty surprising how long it took for people to realize the only way to deal with tandem medics was to turn around and run away. Only thing that can reasonably deal with it is a leafblower.
The rage on my team when you guys were running around ubersawing everyone was pretty funny. People were even suggesting making macros for 'explode' so people could suicide when the medics showed up.

I have to say, I think this whole halocaust thing only made more idlers. Before they banned the idling program I only saw one or two achievement_idle servers running. Now my whole damn server list is clogged with the damn things.
I know personally, I never knew this idling program existed. Had I, I probably would have used it. I sure as hell just leave my TF2 running in these idler servers now that I know what they're for.
If I had any talent for map making, I'd love to make a 5-point control map where RED's side is Black Mesa (with the final point in the Anti Mass Spectrometer Room), BLU's side is Aperture Science (with the final point in GLaDOS's chamber), and the central point in Xen.
By the way what models/files are restricted on PA servers? There are some very cool Spy mask and sticky bomb skins out there that I would like to use but I don't want to be auto kicked for custom files.
It seems like a decent map in concept.. the implementation is just terrible. Hallways need to be opened up a bit, the CP areas need to be reworked, stuff like that. Routes in general are okay, they just feel too cramped.
Okay, saints should be showing up in the rotation now.
Updated Premuda as well. The new version's fully detailed, and the final point got re-worked layout wise. (Highly recommend downloading ahead of time, since it's one of those larger-sized maps.)

So I made a script to put the Texas Ten Gallon on the class of your choice (using equipment manager) with the click of a button, and it actually seems to be working!
Where do I get this font? (my photoshop skills are woeful) And how can it be hard to read when it's white like the text on the forums?
And hee hee the halo shows up on cloaked spies, what fun. Think they're all safe with their fancy cloaks...
EDIT
It is four sniper achievements, set to the standards the sniper gives in the Meet the Sniper video: Be polite, be efficient, have a plan to kill everyone you meet.
forgive me if this sounds dumb, but since you're replacing words with pictures anyway, why not replace the "to" with the 2 in the game title logo?

I guess the lesson here is that you can't teach a sneetch

Sounds like tonight should be HONC night to me.
Playing only PA-made maps!
Because, you know, that white paint the flaregun lets you see the pyro from farther away or some crap. >: (

But I am part of both of them
Seriously, change the thread title.

The intent was to encourage less hat talk, not a reduced quantity of hats. I therefore claim artistic license on the thread title.
vector? something like that?
