Aww, I liked his style. Specially in action scnes. Who's doing Ultimate Enemy/Mystery? That guy would be a great fit for UCSM.
Though Bagley back is pretty awesome.

I wouldn't be surprised if Pichelli is moved to New Avengers now. She would be a nice Immonen replacement, and Bendis rewards his artists rather well with higher gigs at Marvel.
Bendis has said on his twitter he has plans for both Lafuente and Pichelli. Thank god. And if Immonen has to go, then either of them would be great on New Avengers.
Mark Bagley is back on Ultimate Spider-Man in 2011! Christmas has apparently come early for me, cause I have been wishing this since he left. Bendis and Bagley will begin their reunion tour in issue #156. I'm having a real hard time keeping a grin off my face.

I've been out of the loop for a while - what exactly is Death of Spider-Man? Besides, you know... the death of Spider-Man.

It's supposed to be a big game changer with the Ultimate Universe, and could stem from what happened in USM #150 where
Peter signs up for super hero school from SHIELD, so that he can work for them. So we might see Spider-Man die but Peter becomes a SHIELD agent using his abilities in a different costume or manner
The biggest news out of all this is that Mark Bagley is back on USM after a few years at DC.
The whole Lafuente debate reminds me of the people that couldn't get past the Spectacular Spider-Man cartoon looking too cartoony.
I think a lot of comic fans reject stuff cartoony styles of art, for whatever reason. Personally, I'm all for more diversity in the field, especially if it means all the Jim Lee clones go away forever. That said, not everything's going to be for everyone, so I don't fault people for their tastes.
But fans should really learn to criticize art and artists without ignorantly trashing it. It's one thing if an artist is clearly just making mistakes or being sloppy, but I think it's clear Lafuente's not. That guy's not trying to draw like Steve Ditko, and just doing it wrong. He's got his own thing going on.

I like Lafuente, love Pichelli (she just gets bogged down with drawing bad stories), but Bagley is Spider-Man to me, and always will be. I know he's got his fans and haters, but I love his art. Oval head Spider-Man will always be paramount to circle head Spider-Man like Lafuente draws.

ABOUT FREAKING TIME!!! I can't fucking stand David Lafuente's artstyle. He's right up there with Fred Perry and the Megatokyo dude in my book.
David Lafuente is a much better artist than Mark Bagley and I don't even like anime styles like that
Please tell me you're being sarcastic...
No way. You can show me pencils for faces of characters Lafuente's drawn and I'll be able to say who those characters are
You can show me pencils for characters Bagley's drawn and hey there might be three distinct faces maybe
Lafuente's super cartoony and I love it. At first I wasn't big on him, as it looked too anime, but then it started looking almost Disney-esque and I was sold

Bagely is really good at being on time and stuff, but I think a lot of his characters tend to suffer from looking far too much alike. Especially how he loves those weird pointed bangs. He also seems to have a lot of stock poses he falls back on, especially someone throwing their hands in the air when they are annoyed. Minor stuff, I mean completely solid, but something about a lot of it rubs me the wrong way.
I do like Lafuente a bit more, but I think he might be a bit too cartoony to pull some of the more dramatic instances. And I dunno, he always just looked a little rushed to me. The annual he did prior to being the regular artist was a lot stronger in my opinion.
I haven't actually read any the Pichelli stuff so I can't really comment on it.
I honestly wish Immomen could have stuck with it longer. Guys got the ultimate balance on the whole cartoony realism type stuff.

Yeah, Immonen is probably my favorite and is definitely the most versatile artist out of all the Ultimate Spider-Man ones
I mean, I really didn't mind Bagley's art when I first read Ultimate Spider-Man because it was the first time I saw his art, but after seeing other artists on it and seeing his art on other books, I just really don't like it.
Something about his faces really bugs me (aside from them all being the same). I think it's the eyes. They look lifeless

I really liked USM 150 and I'm excited for the Bagley return
Also, I'll second the idea of an Agent Parker/Storm/Drake superteam, but I think more than likely they'll go the path of an Agent Parker and he'll drift apart from Iceman and Torch, Fury will return to remove Danvers (is Fury still alive in the Ultimate U?) and Spider Man will go back to being Spider Man
Let's just hope there's no Ultimate version of the Iron Spider...

I fucking love cartoony, Munch
Nick Roche is my favorite artist at IDW, and he is also the least detailed
He uses smooth and pointed lines variously, never is guilty of TOO MUCH DETAIL, and can convey motion brilliantly
I can honestly say that I prefer cartoony, light on detailed art to superdetailed, dark art
But, I can honestly say that I don't like Lafuente's art style. It's not for me.
Nah, like I said, not everything's for everyone, and if Lafuente just doesn't do it for you, nothing I can say will change your mind. But, I have a hard time finding flaws with it. He draws clothes that look like real clothes, does cool backgrounds, can actually draw teenagers that don't look like smaller adults, and he experiments with panel layouts.

Guess they caved to dudes who didn't like his style
Anyway, I'm not nuts about Bagley's style, but I'm sure this'll make some fans happy.

Honestly what they should have done long ago is given Bendis full creative control over 1616
Ultimate-Spidey and his friend of the week would have been really great.
Agent Parker is a natural continuation of that. Agents Parker, Storm and Drake even more so
I can actually imagine it happening as well
Oh God that would be so fucking fantastic

Yeah Skottie Young rocks
but this aint gonna happen
what was the last non-Oz non-cover Marvel work he did anyway? New X-Men?
I hate Lafunte but love the shit out of Skottie Young. He'd be a great fit for the book.
Well I mean the type of people complaining about Lafunte being "too cartoony".
There are other legitimate issues with his art! (I'm kind of eh on him myself.)

It reminds me of the early issues of Invincible with Cory Walker.
