They gave me some good advice considering they didn't like the poems at all.
Well that initial foray almost always ends in blood.
Yeah, I mean, I expect some criticism (even ball grinding harsh criticism) but I actually have a note from my teacher saying she felt i was the best writer in the class and that she hoped I would continue writing poetry (not completely professional but honest ). I kinda thought they would atleast sorta like it lol.

Well, I agree with a lot of their points (namely spmspiff's, and I can kind of see where Quoth was coming from) but i found it odd that my class of mostly non-poets didn't have a hard time understanding them yet that was my biggest criticism- lack of clarity to the reader.

Y'know what I hate? When people draw a fantasy charachter and then provide a 1000 word RPG spiel on the charachters background, skills, dining preferences, toilet habits etc. Does anyone really give a fuck! God!

It'd be cool if the character was somehow original or compelling, but yeah, in most cases where I've seen those, they're not.

If they plan on using the character in a story / dnd game... then yes?
but if its just drawing for the sake of drawing then i sure as hell don't.
I posted a some of my writing in the writers block, I think it was the first place I posted. I remember being told my prose was too flowery, which I thought was odd because I had edited and edited and edited again. Beyond posting my work in bullet point form I wasn't sure how to make it any less flowery.

Explosion!
Exciting escape!
Mystery.
I was also told that I was telling, not showing, which is advice I always think I understand, but probably don't.

heh, well, It seems they're looking for a very precise kind of writing there which isn't all together a bad thing... We'll just have to find our places else where
I made a spreadsheet-like thing, five colored categories per day. the plan is to fill in each block with it's corresponding color daily, and to leave as few blocks blank as possible.
I'ma be like the six million dollar man or some shit.
Gentlemen, we can rebuild him. We have the junkyard scrap.... Better than he was before... so much better, he might almost be as functional as an average man. The sixty-five dollar manon.

Though I find most poetry to be pretentious shit, so I'm probably not the best person to comment on it.
