Windows movie maker can work quite passably (I believe both Chico, Campion, and Raneados used that for their entries last year.)
If you need a poor-man's vector animating program Creatoon is free and isn't terribly difficult to use, although its output quality isn't very good from what I've seen.
God I sat down to work on my battle entry then halfway through I realisized that NO ONE wants to read a 4 page story. So I guess I need to find a good video compiling program is and start making shitty MS paint slides.
I think mine is going to go up as a flickr set and i will just hope that people are willing to click through a couple of times.

Last year when entries were close, the guy who had people clicking back and forth 10 times lost every single time.
