equilibrium didn't strike me as a good bad movie... I thought it was just good.

imho of course. Director's commentary was very interesting on it.

Has anyone brought up Roadhouse? If not, that is probably the winnar. Seriously Patric Swazie tackles a guy off a bike going approximately the speed of light.

I didn't mean bad in the real sense, just that it has a certain campy flavor to it.

The last word I would use to describe Equilibrium is campy.

And camp doesn't make something a "bad movie" anyway.

Yeah, slicing someone's face off is not campy at all.

I thought this thread was about lovably "bad" cheesy movies. Maybe I was confused and it's just about terrible movies that're guilty pleasures for people, I don't know.

Slicing someone's face off can be campy. Equilibrium, however, wasn't campy or cheesy or bad in any way, shape, or form. And you're still intimating that "camp" translates to "bad" or even cheesy. I don't agree at all. Take Starship Troopers. On its own (ignore the book), it's one of the campiest films I've ever seen. It's also brilliant, in my opinion, specifically for that purpose. Bad or cheesy? Not at all. Great film, because of the camp.

    And Equilibrium wasn't campy anyway.

Try not to get your panties in a bunch because someone disagrees with your assessment of a film.

Slight tangent: even though it wasn't really "Hackers 2" and apparently misrepresented the true Kevin Mitnick story, Takedown (often referred to as Hackers 2: Takedown) was pretty fucking cool. It was really about social engineering but had a lot of computer hackery stuff in it too.

Similarly, the documentary called Freedom Downtime, which talks about the inaccurate portrayal of Kevin in the movie Takedown as well as Kevin's incarceration and the Free Kevin movement was also pretty awesome.

Alright, my friends and I used to go out on nights when there was nothing to do and rent a really bad movie, then sit there and laugh at it. Our favorite was Mankillers. It was this movie about a group of ex-con women who "The Agency" hired to help break up a ring of female sex slave guys. There was a great scene involving a 12 mile per hour car chase. If you can find a copy, I highly recommend it. Anyone else seen it?

Worth it even if only for a surprising performance by Martin Short. But IMHO everything about this movie is almost spectacular. It's probably the most accessible Arthurian film that isn't targeted only at kids.

One of my favorite books is The Crystal Cave by Mary Stewart, so I loved Merlin just because it was fairly close to it.

Some others I didn't see mentioned:

I saw both Troll and Troll 2. I loved them both, but Troll was better than the sequel.

Elvira: Mistress Of The Dark was an awesome movie.

Also, does The Last Boy Scout count as a good or bad movie? Either way, it's one of my all-time faves. So many hilarious one liners in there.

Speaking of Leprechaun, I really thought Leprechaun 4: In Space was funny.

Since I'm talking about horror movies: House and House II: The Second Story were both fantastic. Both were campy, but the second one was much more of a comedy than a horror and a different kind of camp than the first one. It was more of a pulpy Allan Quatermain movie than anything else. I loved it.
