Geez wolves are a bitch to kill. I tried at least 4 times to kill the first one that shows up in the challenge levels. And when I finally killed him it took at least 2 minutes of running, attempted leg cannons and hit-and-runs.

To make sure no random net trolls are using these, just pm me for my free link. I picked up the game earlier, they were giving it away to anyone who wanted it over christmas to promote it. I bought it when it came out, lost the install and figured a free replacement was worth it.
Even if you don't want the free game, you SHOULD check out his website, www.wolfire.com. The guy who made Lugaru is a long time indie game programmer, him and a small team are making the sequel to Lugaru and are pretty good about showing what they're up to with the game. They've already got Valve promising to carry it on Steam, and if you preorder it, you can transfer the preorder to Steam when it comes out. Oh, and did I mention that if you use TrialPay to preorder it, you can get it for free as well, download the alpha and betas as they're released, and it will run on windows, Linux and OS X?
Also, the guy writes some pretty interesting blog posts on his site...commenting on why game developers should support all 3 major OSs (Lugaru runs on all 3), if games are art, and he posts design tours highlighting aspects of other indie games, which pretty much ends up being a review of the game from the point of view of a game designer. So far he's reviewed Gish, Kyntt Stories, World of Goo and Aquaria.
Also, for youtube videos showing off the game, this one has smoother framerates. Or something.
Pictures in the OP made me think of a fluffy Tenchu. How disappointed will I be?
Those were awesome as hell. I can't even imagine how they did that live updating texture.
I don't really remember what Tenchu plays like but it is fairly technical fighting vs. most other action adventure type games.
Well I've been sitting on a free copy of this game for way too long, here it is if anyone wants it, please share your free copies with the rest of the forum.

It's filling me with rage
I should just do individual fights until I'm good like I used to be
Aaaand, that would be the sequel, Overgrowth. That's the reason this one is being given away!
Get 'em while they're hot!
Thanks for the free game!

But, I just have to know. Out of all the random woodland creatures they could have chosen from....why rabbits?

The only thing I can think of is the possibility that he read Watership Down and it stuck in his mind, later to manifest itself into a video game.

I personally thought that from a technical stand point these are pretty cool.

I sent an email to the contact about trying to get this game up on Steam along with up and coming Overgrowth, I think they are that good.
There is a referral give-away thing going on, not sure what the suprise is, but I bet it could be lugaru.
