I can see where he's coming from in fairness. Yes you're getting the new content at the end of the day, but it's not exactly being shipped in the way the people who are "all up in arms about this L4D2 situation" expected it to be. It's moving the goal-posts. Personally I don't care either way, I'm just happy for more L4D one way or another, but I can definitely understand why people feel a bit screwed by this.

Here's something else. There's a L4D2 supporters group. It's only at 300 members though. I bet it would be a lot bigger if xbox360 users were allowed to join. I haven't met a single console gamer who's upset about this yet. I would join, but I don't have a steam account.

L4D2 is pretty much 70% of the content they promised for an update and just slapped a 2 in front of L4D.
I don't think L4D2 should be ALL DLC and free at all, but come on.. here's the update list for L4D:
-New Weapons (scrapped for L4D2)
-New Models/skins (scrapped for L4D2)
-New Bosses (scrapped for L4D2)
-New Campaigns (scrapped for L4D2)
I'm not looking for handouts, but come on, at least release us some new gun skins or 1 fucking campaign.

I sincerely hope that the new weapons and characters find their way into L4D1. If the weapons don't, that's ok. But it would be cool to be able to set it that way.
I'm more interested into the matchmaking update, to be honest. New maps and weapons will certainly be cool. But the matchmaking is critical to making my time worthwhile.

Dude. It is entitlement. I hate to tell you, but it is. Anytime someone expects anything for free, it's entitlement. If I were you, I would stop arguing that it's not entitlement, and instead argue that it's justified entitlement. To a certain degree, I agree that some entitlement is justified, and being a little annoyed with Valve is justified. But signing a boycott and comparing Valve to EA, calling them liars who only care about money, is not justified.

You know what I can't stand about the current match-making? Douchebags who are playing with a friend beside them as a guest. All my experiences of playing with these kinds of people are "Dude, go to the other team so me and my buddy can play together or we walk." Or "Dude, kick someone who was here before us so we can both play, or we walk." I honestly hope they pack that shit in for L4D2. Has anything positive come from that dog-food garbage setting?

I think where i differe from alot of people is that im not saying i wont buy L4D2, and i think L4D is an awesome game, and i still play it fairly regularly. What i dont like is that people kept saying new content was coming, and now it isnt.

I'm the total opposite. I hate it when they try to put their guests on the other team. I don't like thinking that someone on the other team can see me as infected just by looking at his buddies side of the screen. Also, I don't want to be responsible for teaching your guest how to play the game.

I'd say 4/6 people that joined and left our team was boasting about L4D2 being the shit and they can't wait, yet they just got the "Infected" bile achievement and 2 people got "Long-drag". One even asked us how to melee.

I'm not sure, but maybe cause of lack of content, we started making up our own game modes.
Either way, it's still fun as hell. We should have a single pistol, no melee reverse-stomp.
I think the problem would be solved by better matchmaking. It's a pretty obvious mistake on Valve's part and I hope they add 4 v 4 matchmaking soon (as in, when the newest patch comes out).
Also, I apologize for my previous comment provoking the stupid shit. Dealing with people who constantly freak out about stupid shit (if I ever have to hear someone steer a conversation about real issues toward a discussion of John and Kate Plus 8 one more time, I'll fucking strangle them) has made crazy.

survival mode was pretty sweet imho. but I guess that's not enough for the entitlement crew on the Internet.

They should be taught how to play in the offline mode first, ideally, to at least get the basics of teamwork down.
