with the mod you will get almost exactly the same whole experience

the changes in it will be small and almost unnoticeable from playing the original game really

your overall experience of the game

will still be roughly equivalent to anothers

Honestly it's not as though if you play it with the fan patch the game is going to be shit, it's just that some (the minimum) of the changes are so stupid that as a fan of narrative coherence it drives me up the fucking wall. The guy who does those patches writes fanfiction about his wod characters, I guarantee you.

I laugh every time I see the Troika logo at the beginning of the game.

The dude is I guess supposed to be pulling the lever towards "Code". I laugh because he clearly got the level stuck at "Design"...

I read recently that when the game had been in production for 2 years Activision sent a dude to see what was up and they didn't even have a combat system or the Santa Monica hub operable. Not finished, even operable so you could fucking walk around it and look in all the buildings. I love this game, I love this game but that's incredibly unprofessional. Activision had to send a producer to look over their shoulder the entire time and basically force them to get it finished in something like six months. People bitch about executive meddling in games but honestly the game would never have come out at all. No wonder Troika couldn't get publishers.

Most people don't realize that for many studios, having a guy saying 'stop spending money and finish your damn game' is a good thing. It means that the end product actually comes out in at least the appropriate decade and it forces the dev team to eventually decide what they're planning for every major system. Otherwise, I know a lot of people who would just keep iterating and throwing out prototypes for major systems because it wasn't perfect.

you HAVE to be selective with which zombies you kill. just make sure a certain radius around one door clear, and then switch back to the other. dont use the rifle unless youre a firearms specialist. the fireaxe and blood buff are your friend. In fact, i think i used the smaller, katana-like sword because my base melee skill wasnt that high, and it didnt take as much to use as the axe.

I ended up using Celerity (I think that's the speed one) and just running back and forth with melee weapons, hacking zombies into pieces.

As soon as I tried it with a clan that didn't have Celerity, I couldn't manage it. Probably because I suck, but eh.

Yeah I'm dumb. Didn't notice the opening in the fence there. At least there are so many other quests to do also that I wasn't just stopped in my tracks for gameplay.
