Yeah. The whole band came over and gawked at all the shit on my walls. One of their non-band friends bought one of my paintings on the spot. Their manager looked through my website and was all 'yeah we just want something kind of FUCKED UP looking!'

And then apparently his reaction to the draft was 'ooo that will be difficult to put on a t-shirt.' I wasn't there when they all talked about it so I didn't get to sort anything out, so the band sketched up this... this thing. And I'll have to see if I can do anything with it. I'll post some pics when I get home.

Also that foreshortening on her hand is not really working. Shes got this weird ninja turtle look going on right now, looks like she has three fingers. I think if you shallowed out the crease under her nose (whats it called? The philtron or something awesome like that) she would look a lot more human. No one's... nose crease is that pronounced.

Some doodles. Top left is just a quickie concept i had for an illustration. Kinda boring. The top right is a statue at the adelaide museum. And the bottom is just me practicing drawing girls. Something i really struggle with because i dont draw them enough.

Define your grounds. Everything looks like it's on the same plane. Try showing some atmospheric perspective, too.

You're getting a lot of "tire track"-looking strokes. You can go up to "Shape Dynamics" in the brush options and pump up the angle jitter of your brush (leave the control set to "off") to make the texture strokes look more like texture and less like patterns. I think it'd be a good idea, and look a lot less distracting.

Putting the spacing setting down closer to 0% also eliminates that effect but the stroke edge becomes more uniform and it can be rough on older computer.

Nah I know how brushes work.

I just like working with spacey brushes when I'm roughing stuff in. It's quicker when I've got a lot of stuff running on my CPU, which is most of the time. I would normally clean stuff up at a later stage but like I said, this painting's life was cut short by my stupid file saving habits. /excuses

Monarch, it's looking better, but you need to eliminate those lines above the pecs and pay more attention to the joints of your lines.

    Update: God-Splicecopy-1.jpg

Is that better Tam? And I am trying to do better with how my lines connect. When I put a lot of effort into making sure there is no white space between my line segments they all come out equal weight. I have a life drawing class next semester, hopefully that will help me feel more confident with my line quality and shape.
