Tim Burton's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory would have been a lot better if Johnny Depp hadn't decided to do a Michael Jackson impersonation right in the middle of it
i like the ideas of a lot of tim burton movies but not how they are directed.
so i think I can safely say I don't like the director.
like I like the direction of a lot of m night shyamalan movies but not the stories, which is equally conflicting for me.

I never got the feeling that tim burton was remaking that movie for any other reason then that it's a well known title that he could profit off of by making it more quirky and goth. tim burtons a fucking asshole.

Tim Burton once said he'd never read a comic book in retaliation to a half-hearted joke Kevin Smith made. This coming from the man who used Batman as a huge launchingpad for his career. I'm not even an avid reader of comics (read some as a kid, also like The Watchmen, that's about it) but maaaaaaaaan...dude lost all credit in my eyes after I heard that.

apparently you've never even read the fucking book, otherwise you'd know that burton's version is a LOT closer than the older one

Essentially Tim Burton's shitting on the work of people who helped make his career or at least something he profited greatly from. I'm not saying you have to be into an art form, but at least try not to talk down to everybody because you realized that making architecture a bit slanty is somehow considered spooky.

these
these are the fine details
I did read the book. No I don't remember the details.
I'm like 24 years old. Magical chocolate factories don't appeal to me. Not even gothy ones.

shank are you really really drunk right now?
Big Fish you whore.
damn it
i do this and i have to give him credit
i don't like that many of his movies
a lot of them suck
so much
yeah
I hate him too
followed by pee wee's big adventure
i mean like, damn
really?
tim burton, you're killing me
oh shit, ed wood
god, that's three
releasing the film on november first was an incredibly boneheaded move though
but i also think batman forever was great so what do i know
though this is probably more due to danny elfman
I hate gimmicky directors.
I HATE TIM BURTON
I GUESS
OH EXCEPT THIS MOVIE
AND THIS ONE
AND THIS ONE
OH YEAH THIS ONE TOO
BUT OTHER THAN MOST OF HIS MOVIES I HATE HIM ARRAWRAWRARARR
you gay dogs
listen i'm just torn
i don't like him and a broad smattering of his movies
but when i get down to it, i like three
fuck
But he didn't direct it or anything, he just came up with the idea
gay dog
monkey bone
I saw it in the theater with my sister
we were the only ones in the threater
so i think I can safely say I don't like the director.

agreed
everything else about it was great, though
Gene Wilder was so great as Willy Wonka though
I don't think i've ever seen an interview with him or heard the man talk
so I have no opinion of him
There are few that could top Gene Wilder. Young Frankenstein was truly great.

uh nope

probably pioneered "slanty architecture" in film
Well, if nothing else he strikes me as a less douchy Todd Mcfarlane, which means he should be spat on upon sight.
german expressionism in general, but the cabinet of dr caligari really cranked up the weirdass buildings
