    that's so dumb!

and yes but even the kid communists weren't really proper communists so much as they were outspoken left-wingers rallying under a common and recognizable flag that conveniently had major associations to americans

    you're missing the point

I am saying that people who call themselves "communists" in America are very, very rarely actual communists so much as they are left-wing capitalist-democrats who admire the ethics of communism but would probably be less than pleased if they found themselves in an actual communist society

It's not that people have to live under a particular government to be true members of the party, it's just that American youths' idea of "communism" is generally hilarious

Naziism is a little easier to adhere to but it's still rare

    Thinking about reinstalling VtM: Redemption.

    1. Is this a good idea?

    2. Are there any mods extant that might make this a better idea?

    3. You remember the scene where you wake up in the modern nights and get your first gun? Wasn't that awesome?

At normal speed you can run around one of the supports in the room faster than he can chase you (even without Celerity). As long as you don't run out of ammo you can kill him with any ranged weapon.

you can also get a katana really early on in the game
by doing the quest for knox where you kill a kuei-jin.

you get the shitty katana but it's still a pretty good weapon for the early game

that level is one of my favourite levels in anything ever. the game itself kind of takes a dive in the modern nights but the wake up sequence rules.

The dude drops the katana in the vanilla game, and he doesn't in the fan patch. The fan patch moves it to Hollywood with the strip show bounty hunter chick. This doesn't make any sense because by that time it's an inferior melee weapon to the sledgehammer you get at the convenience store. But, you know, fan patch.

I only found the sledgehammer to be useful against the gargoyle.

And it's worthless compared to the axe, against zombies, since it can't OHK the bastards.

edit: It also makes no sense that the katana would be inferior, since it's not available for purchase until Chinatown.

I've played the game without the fan patch something around the region of ten times and the Kuei Jin in Santa Monica has never dropped a katana.

It might have been an earlier version of the fan patch then? I distinctly remember getting the katana from him in one of my playthroughs years ago, but don't remember if I'd had any mods on at the time. Thought I'd just had the official patch, but maybe not.

Without the fan patch it might depend on which weapon he is using when you kill him. If he has the crossbow out he drops the crossbow, if he has the katana out he drops that.

With the fan patch he drops both everytime.
