Laptop locks are highly recommended, but security is also tight. I haven't heard anybody having any problems, but that's no reason not to be secure.

Also since there are a number of people who havent picked a seat yet... Ill copypasta this from the BYOC reg page.

Warning: You must both pay your balance AND select your BYOC Seat following the instructions below in order to secure your place at the LAN. Seats are available on a first to reserve basis. Payment alone does not secure your seat.

Man, how do people not realize the 4 step process.

    #1. Register for the Event
    #2. Pay
    #3. Select Seat
    #4. Profit!

just a bit of wariness, is the website going to continue taking peoples' money after the seats are full, or is it programmed to close when the last seat is chosen? that would be pretty lame to sign up and pay just to see it's full.

[edit] wtf, red, you mean to tell me you've done some sort of 'LAN', as you say, at some time in history? lol, ty.

Damn it Waldo! I knew I forget something.

It's always that last step I can never figure out. It really explains everything.

On the intel LAN fest FAQ, it says that i need confirmation of my seat in an email that was sent out when i registered. I changed my seat since then. What do I do? I didn't get a second email.

as long as its reflected on the seating chart and the byoc list then dont worry about it

Looks like 19 open seats, but some people may just have not gotten a seat yet. Tycho side has NO seats left together.

Ive poked intel on clairification on "Unseated" because it seems some of them are paid but not seated, and some are unpaid but signed up.

Why do you guys hate awesome so much?

You can always submit a help ticket on the Intel Lanfest site to get a straight refund of the tickets.

Yo Matt, this is Jared (Pinnochio), you're trying to keep this strictly PC oriented, right? I just wanted to clarify any potential attendee's (Like myself) you have that might bring a 360 or PS3. I did a search in the thread for the keyword "console", and no hits so I figured I'd mention it to you. :)

    P.S. Long time no see.

Play quake 3? At least thats the only decent multiplayer game I remember being on linux. Unless they are going to run wine and play old pc games...

For the record, Macs and Linux based machines are also "Personal Computers". =P

Although I suppose if I take that defense, I also invite further semantic discussions on how it is that a 360 or ps3 does not qualify as a "personal computer", so it may just be easier to say "Dyaballikl is correct". =)

9 seats lefft on the seating chart

if you bought your ticket but havent sat down yet... you should probably do so asap.

Also "Unseated participants" on the list is a combo of people who have paid, people waiting for payment to clear, and people who just signed up but havent paid for the event yet.

i think if you have a ps3, you shouldn't be allowed in byoc, period :)

but seriously, that would be pretty rad using your 360 as a full windows running computer!

Ok, so no going old school with a Commadore 64?

It is indeed a Personal Computer (albeit ancient).
It does run games (gogo Load,"Space Invaders",8,1).
