edited September 2009 in PAX Archive
Come to the 2009 PAX Tweetup!

Last year our post-pax Twitter party was such a hit we decided to do it again. Looking for something to do Sunday night after PAX? Want to come press some palms and slap high-fives with the people you talk to every day but never see? Everyone is invited, whether you use Twitter or not, come on down and hang out!

Come meet all your fellow Twitter Shitters for some dinner, drinks, bowling and pool at The Garage on Capitol Hill! It's within easy walking distance of the PAX at the convention center and we'll be there woot'ing it up all night.

The venue has 18 regulation pool tables, six bars, a restaurant, and a bowling alley attached so you won't have any trouble finding something that suits you, or just come relax after the convention and chill before you have to leave town.

Check the links below for the menu and maps.

This is a 21 and over event. For information on the under 21 tweetup, contact @cwknight [Neelix on the forums].

Details:
WHEN:

Sunday night, 9/6/09 @ 8:00 PM

WHERE:
Garage Billiards
http://www.garagebilliards.com/
1130 Broadway Ave, Seattle, WA 98122

Pool tables are $10 per hour, and $5 per hour after 10 pm. The bartender can rent tables to you. They have REALLY NICE tables!

Bowling lanes are $10/hour before 10 pm, $5 after 10. Eight people can play per lane and I will reserve two lanes for us, so we can rotate in and out as long as we like.

Shoe rentals are $3.50 a pair.

I was under the impression no words would be spoken. Only tweets/twits/twats/twulps/twerps/tweeps/twots, as we stand around each other.

Was the extra-big text entirely necessary?

After being confined to 140-character entries... a man's gotta let it out sometimes.

There are actually classes and groups for people like us. We meet Monday-Wednesday-Friday and discuss the debilitating habits of speaking…

… in only 140 character bursts during typical conversation. It’s rough. Stay strong, though. You can beat this. ;)

    GPIA7R, you're very silly. :)

I had been considering the idea that my original flight out on Sunday night might not be the greatest idea before now, but this pushed me over the edge. Leaving Monday morning instead. Count me in.

I've got to leave Sunday night, but chose the later flight around 11pm. I wish this was earlier than 8... but I'm sure I can come by and hang around for a little bit.

I have a Monday afternoon flight this year so that I have enough time to die from alcohol poisoning and be brought back to life.

Just kidding, I am going to try and not be thrown out this year.

Quick update in case you're curious, we have approximately 40 people confirmed so far, and I'm guessing that will double during PAX actual. Can't wait to see you all again!

I was torn between this and the Post-PAX dinner for about half an hour... but between the cost and the committed number of people coming to the Twitter one, it wasn't too hard a decision after I weighed all the options :-)

I'm pitching this here as well:

If you're not sure what to wear to the TSer meetup, and you've thought of going naked, stop! Instead, buy one of these fantastic twitter shitter garments to cover your bosoms (or mosoms, if you're so inclined).

    The Twitter Shitter Shirt!

Designed by the radass @SeanCelaya. Available in men's and women's normal and plus sizes.

    Check out this hotness

So yeah, now you'll have something to wear in the cool kids' club. :D

Hi everyone my name is Monica! I am new to PAX, but my partner in crime aka b/f attended last year. Due to his enthusiastic description of how much fun he had last year I find myself with tickets to fly to Seattle and a confirmation email to enjoy 3 days of PAX.

Aaron is in Iowa, west of Des Moines and I'm right outside Minneapolis, MN.

We are hoping to meet other rad individuals to hang out with after or before the PAX festivities as we will arrive in Seattle on the 2nd. Of course walking around the town and checking out the city (We will be staying at the Inn at Queen Anne) will be fun but having somewhere and people to party with at night would be awesome!

    Anyone up for it?! :winky:
