A dookie dookie dookie, so I made this new thread, as you may all know or not know, I have now spent 33% of my little art life in these forums one year in public college, 2 years in highschool andd the one year in public college the summer actually of when I graduated high school was when I came here yay. So i'm a persistent bastard apparently. Back then it was still football shaped eyes but I didn't post anything until a few months in the public college when I did my skeleton and whateverrr i'm getting tired of typing heres stuff.

I refuse to show the first drawing, its so bad but heres the second drawing

and here is my favorite chinchilla doodle I made

anyways so before anyone sais anything, yah the lines are dark and theres no shading, I never used these charcoal pencils before and I engrave stuff as it is, on the fifth on the top right corner you saw me beginning to try draw lighter, thats what i'm going to be currently practice

ugh

ugh

I really like this place and intend to obsessively study, kay the end

theres a bunch of other drawings but there all before that first one so yah NO LOOKIE.

do you normally have problems with scale? It looks like everyone of these bleeds off one or two edges of the paper.

Not really only the one where I drew her standing straight up is bleeding off and thats because I didn't notice the foot aiming down till after drawing, the others I just sloppily took pictures of so the upper half is being hidden by the next page

Loomdun has enough reference to do 50 drawings a day for a month. So you can all expect that from him I think.

Also his teacher in this class is my roommate...who is currently killing nazi zombies. Loudly.

BTW, for these newsprint pads, it's recommended to
-gently tear off the front cover, throw it away.
-gently tear off the cardboard on the back; having the cardboard behind your paper when drawing will give it a weird texture.
-take the newsprint and clip it to your board. When transporting the board around, take the cardboard you ripped off the back and clip it in front of the paper, to protect your drawings.

Actually, once you get the good smooth newsprint, how I prefer to use it is to separate about 20-30 pieces from the rest (completely separated...they are not attached to each other either) and put them on my board, and leave the rest of the paper at home. The reason for this, is because the glue in the pad melts and warps the paper...so you have to keep it in a cool environment. Also, the paper itself gets baked and dry in the heat so I like to keep as little of it out at a time as possible. You do however need a good cushion of paper underneath what you are working on though so don't use too few. Also, I highly recommend a four clip strategy.

ugh, i'm taking 7 courses next semester, just sitting home is annoying. Anyways i've done like a bajillion of these but yah its what you think per piece, I could of done wayyy more but I probably would not have learned as much. This newsprint that I took with me in bulk for line study is basically like me drawing on sandpaper so its me just trying to understand how to use the line correctly while interpreting the form so heres one

    back to drawing weee
