Today I went sailing around the San Juan islands with Rankenphile's girlfriend's dad on the Sindi-Cat, a Catalina 27. It started raining when I got to the docks and didn't stop until I was almost home, almost a 2 hour drive away. We set out from the dock about 0840, rave started at 0930 and we finished shortly after 1600. Also, I managed to forget my warm pullover at home, so I froze my ass off most of the day until I found another coat down below on the ship. Also, when the race started there was absolutely no wind to speak of, although later in the day we reached up to around 15-17 knots speed.
This was my first trip out sailing, and I had blast and learned a great deal, and hope to go out again. We saw a sea lion leap up onto a buoy, a dolphin breaching off of starboard, and a couple of seals floating around with their heads out of water. My hands didn't get too torn up from handling lines, and we had some rum & cokes about halfway through the race. I would have more pictures but I was already having to towel the camera off after every picture due to the rain. Plus were kind of busy sailing the ship.
Pictures below. oh yeah and also I locked my keys in the car when I got there and that costs me $70 to get taken care of because we had no coat hangar on the boat.
