Man that makes me sad if he really did use cocaine. Are there no clean or wholesome celebrities anymore, big or small?
Sorry that people don't live up to an artificial and unrealistic standard of purity and freedom from vice.
Oh well damn, better get right on distributing coke and heroine to schoolyards, factories, and grocery stores across the country!
I was just going to let BlueBlue's statement speak for itself, but with Henroid eagerly leaping aboard the Thoughtless Argument Express, I feel the need to respond.
The 'wholesome' image portrayed of some celebrities is make-believe. People do not actually live up to the values they express as a society. Rabidly anti-gay politicians are caught trying to get laid in airport mens' rooms. Pee Wee Herman was caught jacking off in a porno theater or something.
Cocaine use in and of itself is amoral, although it is a pretty terrible drug as far as health effects and the business of production and distribution. Trying to strawman 'people indulge in vice' as 'show the school kids how to mainline smack' is so off base that I have trouble honestly believing someone wrote it in any serious fashion.

I think it was more the idea of "don't do coke" as "unrealistic" that set him off. "Don't do blow" seems like a pretty realistic expecation as far as "shit you shouldn't be doing."

Let me try it again without being angry at how dumb that statement was, TLCCOTT.
I didn't know not doing hard drugs was an unrealistic standard to hold people in society to.
Abstinence from cocaine is not an unreasonable thing to promote. Being surprised and dismayed when a celebrity's life does not hold up to the ideal portrayed by what is essentially a fictional character they portray is just silly.
Though, the character he portrayed was just one that was really excited about products, from the small amount I understand from pitchmen, he genuinely was excited about them.

Perhaps Rachael Ray actually runs dog fights, contrary to the values she expresses. As a society.
