Ok I'm registered for the dinner, traveling alone to my first PAX and this looks like a great way to meet fellow PAXers.

Diplomat_ash marks the second Lincoln Osiris avatar I've seen here today. I fucking love it.

"We're tired of bein' your trail donkeys! Actin' like you some one man GPS! God damnit! We're lost, man, we're fuckin' super lost! Tell him, McClusky! Tell him what time it is!"

If I didn't love my Stan avatar so much, I'd get one myself.

Thanks, that movie is hilarious...at least to me.

On a related note to the Pre-PAX Dinner, just read the waiver and I'm left with one question for previous attendees. How likely is it that one will sustain "broken bones and soft tissue damage"? LOL You guys must really know how to party. :D

Last year someone started singing the Portal song and Kim Swift started a mosh pit. It was brutal.

Oh wait. This isn't the PAX misinformation thread.

RSVP bought! Really excited to be going from the southern extreme to the country to the northern extreme in just a few hours.

Quick question: I'm coming from the airport in a rental car, and I was wondering how parking in the area of the Naval Reserve Building is. Is there parking onsite, or should I be hunting for a nearby garage?

Sorry for hijacking this thread a little but this is a message to Astayonix regarding the distribution of the Forum Badges. Message to her is in spoiler.
Please provide me with me approximate number of badges needed and your international postal address so that I can send you the Forum Badges in time for the Pre-PAX dinner

Oh and before anyone asks, yes I have PM'd her but she didn't respond and I'm kind of running out of time...

OK, back to discussing where the Pre-PAX dinner actually is and how you're going to get there in time before it starts. Move along, nothing to see here....

Parking at that time of day near the NRB is pretty easy at that time of day. There's street parking near the venue that will be available. There's some 2 hour parking spots on the street near the NRB that become free parking after 6pm. The dinner starts at 5, so if you park on the street around 4 pm and then 5pm is covered in the 2 hour parking period and it becomes a moot point after 6pm 8-). While carpooling, taxi, and public transporation is encouraged (due to the limited number of spaces available), there is room for those who need to drive. Also, the parking lot that was there last year is under construction (or at least they were SUPPOSED to be under construction) the last time I talked to the NRB folks. They're re-modeling the place, so the placement of the on-site parking lot may change. So, don't count on the on-site parking that was there last year because from this vantage point, I can't see a thing!. Best to just try your luck with street parking.

I'll PM you. It'll be more expensive (which is why I went with GoogleCheckout instead of PayPal), but it can be done if it makes you feel more comfortable. Please check your private messages.
