I was looking at the CBR page for solicits, and I see two covers for Black Widow #1--one by Land, one by Tom Raney. Plus that Adi Granov one from Newsarama's preview.
Guess which ones I like.
Oh, I forgot to mention. Yay, John Aman!
Ooh. And I forgot that November is when they relaunch a new Avengers team in MA Super Heroes.
Hm. Ms. Marvel #47. "THE AMAZING SPIDER-DATE!" Wow. I may actually read this one.
Hey, so... Congrats to Kieron on his Thor run. I think.
Marvel jacked up their trade and hardcover prices in solicits about two or three months back. I assume the Incognito trade is just in line with the new pricing.
I'm not sure how I feel about a 3rd Deadpool series, but I think a team-up is much more viable as an ongoing than the Zombie book.
Edit: Also, the Exiles TPB trade doesn't seem to take the cancellation of the series to heart. It's like the final slap in the face.
Bloody hell, three Deadpool ongoings? That's a bit much.
well only one of them is guaranteed to be good
Is it the one written by Fred Van Lente, and co-starring Herc? Because that's as close to a guarantee of good as you can get.
And honestly, I have no problem with multiple Deadpool ongoings. Daniel Way's Deadpool is great fun, and selling 58,000 per month, Merc with a Mouth is off to a good start and debuted at 55,000 in sales, and even his mini-series, which historically sell less than ongoings, is selling at 38,000 and actually gained sales one month, if I recall correctly.
Personally, I hope all the ongoings enjoy a nice, healthy run, so long as the high level of quality is maintained, as it would make Wade one of the few new characters, one of the first since Wolverine, to enjoy that kind of success. Which I think is pretty cool.
Good Lord, I just realized I still don't see the Messiah War tpb anywhere. Damn I don't want to wait till Christmas to read it. I might just bite the bullet and get the hardcover next week.

oh it is totally the van lente one
I just don't care for Daniel Way's interpretation of Deadpool so even if it has wacky shenanigans in it, I will never read it

I gotta check out Merc with a Mouth though
Really? I'll admit Way's run started off rough, but he's since really toned down the hallucinations, which most people had the biggest beef with, and I think he's honoring the spirit of both Nicieza and Kelly's takes on the character, keeping him as someone who's trying to be a hero, though can't help but slip up. I think the recent Bullsye/Deadpool arc was easily the height of the run so far, and the new Pirate arc is off to a great start.
I think a lot of people are still struggling to accept Pool's dueling internal voices, but I really don't think they're any more bothersome than caption boxes/thought bubbles in any other comic.
Usually, yeah. Premiere Hardcover is a fancy way of saying, "We're putting this out in hardcover first so people will pay for a more expensive version, then in six months we'll put out the softcover for ten dollars less."
I've got no issue with hardcovers that come packed with extras; I love my Annihilation and Agents of Atlas hardcovers. But Premiere Hardcovers have always seemed like a ripoff.
Some of the classic premiers get paperbacks. Kraven's Last Hunt and the Wolverine books have softcovers, but most don't. The Miller Daredevils are coming out in trade too.
Part of it is that I A) am very cheap and hate dealing with those flimsy paper covers. The only way to offset the annoyance of paying more and dealing with the cover protectors is if I get a giant chunk of comics and extras, as with the Invincible hardcovers.
Posts
but it directly conflicts with my ban on hardcovers
what shall i do
Holy crap really? awesome. I need to read his moon knight run.
Make it your only hardcover
and therefore the centerpiece of your bookshelf.
This is assuming that you have your trades on a shelf and not in a pile or in a box.
DARK REIGN: ELEKTRA TPB, PUNISHER: DARK REIGN TPB, and WOLVERINE ORIGINS: DARK REIGN TPB.
I'll probably get Powers hardcover volume 3 for Christmas.
Guess which ones I like.

Come to think of it, thinking of Herc from Munch's post, I think she's one of the few female Avengers Herc never had sex with.
has he done any other runs besides extremis?
Of course some of that may have been Ellis' fault, but I think he said in an interview it takes him like 3 months to do an issue.

Good taste?
I should have known after reading the Wikipedia quote from him in regards to red hulk's negative fan response:

They're only advanced solicits; the full ones have yet to be released.
Hmm.

But it shouldn't because Stuart Immonen is always on time! What a wacky odd couple huh?
