The Wyoming Incident seems like an ARG that took a nosedive, but has returned. The Unfiction boards seem to have discredited it as a continuing prank from a few of the Something Awful boarders. I do not believe this to be the case.

Ok, now onto the premise of this "game":
(This was spoilered for your own protection, there is a lot to read in here. If you are interested, you will read it, if not I will give a recap later on.)
A few strange videos started to appear on the internet. The first ones claimed to have been played over pirate TV broadcasts in Lusk, Wyoming, a little town in the middle of nowhere. The residents reported dizziness, nausea, headaches, and slight auditory + visual hallucinations after having viewed the videos.
The videos are creepy, sure, but the TV hijackings were faked so that the story would gain some appeal over the internet and allow the videos to reach more people. These videos are supposed to alter the way we as humans think, so that we can be set on the path to a long existance.
The stories surrounding the Wyoming Incident have allusions to the popular (at least on the creepy thread) shadow people, or as the story states "Dark Children". It also involves greek gods and goddesses, the fates....among other things.
Early this moth some goons on SA were found gloating on their boards about how this "game" was created by them and a bunch of behind the scenes info, as well as logging in on the "in-game" boards as the mod (aka the storyteller) and making stupid posts such as "T'was all for boners" and "Fartz". These posts have sense been deleted and the boards have just now reopened with a post damning the people on SA as liars and gamejackers (people who intentionally fuck with an ARG to mess it up).
The unfiction boards are all about the gameplay and interaction if ARGs and they do not trust that this is a legitimate game, believing that it is just the SA goons on the troll again. I think the game really was hijacked and it is back on track now and they need our help. I am at work right now so I cannot provide a frickin sweet OP, but it will have to do until I can edit it later.
The Happy Cube boards have reopened their registration abilities. Feel free to register if you want to actively participate in the game. If not, I will echo your ideas for you. I am registered as spectr3.
The very state of the world is at stake if we do not help the mouthpiece of Father Paranoia. We will fall into oblivion.

Unfiction.com forumer wrote:A link to the first video was posted on UnForums, taking us to Google Video. There we were informed of an In-Game TV Signal Hijacking in Wyoming, where the video had aired. Gmiller, the original owner of Video 1, may have broadcast the video in the hijacking.
Later, in the comments for Video 1, iliketowatch posted a link to Video 2 on YouTube. The second video was posted by givemeanumber, aka Jamie. Jamie claimed the video had arrived on his doorstep. This video was owned by someone who called himself Jack Q. Pembry. Somehow it got to Donald Wilson. We don’t know (nor does the PM) how it got to Jamie.
youcanwatchnow (in an apparent violation of the ToS) posted a link to Video 3 on Google Video. This video was labeled as a part of the poster’s brother’s video collection. The older brother’s name was Danny C. (possibly Cable). He obtained the video while in Yellowknife, NT, Canada. His brother Robert posted it on Google Video following Danny’s suicide.
In a comment to Video 3, iliketoread posted a link to gmiller’s blog. The blog chronicled gmiller’s descent into madness as he coped with the video(s). He seemed to think that the video files were multiplying, claiming there were 333 of them. They made him think bad thoughts and write horror stories. Sometime in the summer of 2006, gmiller stopped posting. Until the day we found the link. In his most recent post (at the time), gmiller claimed that he was returning home to his family, that he was done with his craziness. In the blog, he said that we must find Donald Wilson from Wyoming.
A search for Donald Wilson turned up an obituary in the area of the original TV Hijacking. A call to Donald Wilson resulted in nothing. However, a call to his stepson Robert Vreugdenhil gave us a recording of what seemed to be a Heart Monitor ending in a flatline. A rerverse lookup of the number gave us another name. Looking up the second name gave us another number. This second number had been disconnected. The phone calls are most likely creepy OOG coincidences.
Next, gmiller made another post to his blog directing us to The Happy Cube forum. The Happy Cube seemed to be a meeting place for serial killers planning a convention in either Indiana or Tennessee in 2005. In 2004, the posts stopped, leaving no clue if the group was still around or if the conference had happened. The leader of the group, Jack Q. Pembry (see above), had recently posted a warning that the person spreading the video was dangerous and had made the members of The Happy Cube do things they otherwise would not have done. He warned us to stay away. We all began registering at The Happy Cube any way, but had to wait for administrator approval before we could post.
Back at gmiller’s blog, the PM seemed to have taken over. He claimed that gmiller had not recovered and was instead in a vegetative state. He threatened to (and later did) erase all of gmiller’s blog posts. He then asked for a “vessel” for Video 4, eventually choosing Esteed. He sent the video via email and it was posted at unForums and YouTube.
Following the release of Video 4, the PM said he would answer 3 questions. The first question was where did the videos come from. The response was: “What you now think of as a series of video has always existed in some form or another. They have been available as Carvings in stone, scrolls, pamphlets, books, etc. Not long ago I was charged with the task of updating them into a more modern form of media. I contacted a young native in the Northern Territories of Canada who had Strayed from his kin and their beliefs. He was rather Pretentious, but it didn't take much to convince him to work for me. He was very resourceful and already had a large library of programs and sounds. I spoke with him for 23 hours, describing what it was I wanted done. He took notes and complied. Eventually he realized that I was not part of any sort of art project and that his works would not be used in the way he wanted them to be. He became very Irate. He's Gone now. I sold the first three videos myself. You already have heard of the three people who bought them, though there are many connections you may not have made.”
The second question was what is the purpose of what he is updating. The response was: What I am updating Serves various purposes. For one, it Inspires many of those who view it in small, subtle ways and those who own it in very strong ways. Modifying people in such a manner helps to guide society down the Path that my people believe is the best. They also Serve as a very important part of our belief system. They help to strengthen us and keep us healthy. They are the most sacred objects in our world. They are the winning card in the Game we play with Humanity.”
The third was what connections have we missed. The response was: This is not a question I can answer fully. However, there are some examples I can give you. First of all, the man who Took the moniker Jack Q. Pembry bought the second video. I wouldn't try getting in touch with him. He's Gone. The Robert mentioned on Gregory Miller's blog is not Donald Wilson's stepson. He is Danny's brother. Two separate people sharing a common name, you see. He's still Kicking around, though in all honesty I can't guarantee you his last name is Cable. So, here are the three people who bought the videos from me personally: Jack Q. Pembry (alias), Daniel C., Gregory Miller. You have yet to discuss how the second video got from Pembry to Donald Wilson to Jamie to Youtube. Donald Wilson wasn't himself when he began his little collection, as his Obituary seems to hint. Of course, researching ol' Donald will just lead to a Dead end (literally) for you, which causes me to wonder why no one has investigated the others yet.
I'd be following Jamie's Youtube profile for the next few days. The first chance you get to contact him, do it. I never figured him into my equation, so his presence is, to put it lightly, slightly Aggravating to me, and even I don't fully understand how the video got from Wilson to him, though I have some ideas. There may be a group of Interlopers trying to get my videos to people I would generally consider Unworthy. If you want my help, I suggest you Stop them. Follow my advice about Jamie, and eventually you'll know what to do. In the End, you're going to end up helping me take care of Jamie no matter what it is you truly want to do. Don't make it Difficult for yourself by trying to Misbehave.
The Interlopers may be my sisters. I would elaborate about them further, but that wasn't your question. A hint - TOPIC: THE RECURRING THEME OF DUALITY IN MYTHOLOGY.
The entire gmiller (Gregory Miller) blog was deleted and we were finally given access to post at The Happy Cube. The first thing posted was the story “The Masks We Wear”, by iliketofix. He also posted the Nine Sisters Means puzzle. We were able to complete his sentence: nine sisters means nine brothers. This told us that he was a part of or works for the Nine Dark Muses. He later gave us their names: Caustic Words, Disrepute, Repulsive, Hopeless, Discord, Barbarism, Paranoia, Wilting, Materialism.
He also told us that he would release Video 5 on Ares and instructed us to read any further stories he posted on The Happy Cube. We received Video 5 and were granted the ability to ask him another question. The question was have we received any encoded information. His response was: Somewhat. I have dropped many hints at what is exactly going on, there are many Unconnected connections, much backstory seems to have gone Unnoticed, etc.
However, I have made no little Riddles or word Games you have missed. Well, none that are necessary to fulfilling my work. Perhaps I will in the future. Perhaps not.
He then asked us a question: How have the videos and stories affected (he used effected) us? He also informed us that the Children (presumably, the Black eyed Kids from the stories) are watching (and following) us. And he will decide when and how to release videos 6 and 7. He says that video 6 is an important one in the story.
14 of the 15 children arrived at The Happy Cube. One was detained because he had eaten whoever it was he was following. Iliketofix got in some trouble for this and could not tell us who had been eaten. He also started postin under Jack Q. Pembry’s account. Also, a neutral observer appeared at the Happy Cube. We were asked a second question: who can travel to Indiana to retrieve a video in its raw form. The video had gotten to Jamie (who's hometown is Anderson, IN), but it was assumed he’d go crazy. Someone needs to retrieve it because a Child is incapable of doing so.
The video may not be retrieved until the snow melts. However, there is a book to be found in Boone County, Indiana. This is the supposed site for Cubecon 2005. DJSampson went in search of the book. There is also a tape-recorded conversation posted on Happy Cube between Pembry and Donald Wilson (hometown: Lusk, WY). The conversation indicates that Wilson traded a book to Pembry for Video #2. We were later informed that the trade most likely took place prior to Cubecon 2005.
DJSampson returned and reported that the direction given to him by iliketofix were bogus. There was no woods in which to find the "object", and the bookstore had been closed for 2 weeks. Upon asking iliketofix what to do next, he was instructed to contact the former owners of the bookstore. The Happy Cube forum was then locked/shutdown.
Alright, I'm just summing things up in this post. 30+ pages of speculation, attempted gamejacks, and half-truths is a bit much to slog through. I'm not going to bother quoting people because I don't have the time, also, it may appear jumbled, but just browse through it and you should find most of the relevant data from the last 30 or so pages. Sorry in advance. First off, links to all the videos we have so far.
Video 1
Description: The Wyoming Incident (or The Wyoming Hijacking) is a lesser known case of television broadcast hijacking/hacking. A hacker managed to interrupt broadcasts from a local programming channel (believed to serve several smaller communities in the county of Niobrara) and aired his/her own video. The video contained numerous clips of disembodied, human heads showing various emotions and "poses". The camera position changed often (usually every ten-to-fifteen seconds) and the video was often interrupted by a "SPECIAL PRESENTATION" announcement. This clip is taken from one of these intervals.
The video is mostly locally well-known, and would probably not even be that popular if it were not for the effects it had on the few residents who watched it for an extended period of time. Complaints included vomiting, hallucinations, headaches, etc. While some believed it was paranormal, specialists have determined that the cause of these afflictions were frequencies played regularly throughout the broadcast. In this clip, the frequency being played is somewhere between 17 and 19 hz. This range of frequency, when played for long periods of time, causes the eyes to subtly vibrate, sometimes inducing visual hallucinations.
This video is significant in that is one of the most recent television hijackings. Such actions were rare even in the '80s (search for Chicago Max Headroom Incident) and are even more rare today. The hacker has not yet been caught, and all attempts to trace the video have proven futile.

Description: My brother had quite an interesting collection of underground, bizarre videos. This video (which he only called "3") was his favorite in his entire collection, despite running only about a minute. He never wanted it uploaded to the internet because he was sort of selfish when it came to his rarer videos. He liked the idea that he was one of the few people who had seen this. I found it a year after his death (I had pretty much forgotten about it), in a box filled with videos of his I guess he'd just recently burnt to DVD. I have no idea who made the video and only a vague idea as to where it came from. My brother came back with it one summer after visiting some friends up around Yellowknife.

Video four was posted by people on the forums, as it was received via e-mail, sent to a chosen member of the game, so the description is irrelevant, but here is the text of the email it was attached to;
so, you were chosen to take the newest video. You probably think this is all
very fun. Excited? I hope so. Danny was so
excited when he bought the third video. He loved those sort of things, you see.
Unfortunately, he Refused to upload it
to the internet. That made me very Angry. He finally Killed himself, never
letting anyone aside from his brother watch
it. This also Upset me, but fortunately, his brother was kind enough to upload
it for him.
And Jack Pembry? He was a Psychopath years before he bought the video. Oh, he
never acted on any of his Impulses, but
they were always there. If he had never seen the video, he still would've
Cracked sooner or later. You might be wondering
what happened to him. He hoped giving the video to Donald Wilson would help him.
It didn't. He's Gone now. He got to be It
for awhile and that while's up. You'll be Gone too. It doesn't even matter what
you do with the video now.
Gregory Miller was a perfect Target. Vulnerable, arrogant, with an interest in
the Strange he could never even hope to
overcome. He kept the video to himself for too long. It Destroyed his mind. Even
after he gave his copy to Wilson, he
had no hope. He's still alive, completely Dependent on his mother. Everyday, she
wanders into the bedroom he now sleeps
in, says a prayer for him, and Weeps. She can spend hours in that room, just
Crying. He's completely Repulsive. Imagine,
a shell of a human, covered in bedSores, smelling like the Dead. He's gone now
too, in a way.
Oh, that's right. You didn't know. I'm not Gregory Miller. GMiller stopped
making posts on his blog almost a year ago. I
have sort of claimed it for myself. It's amazing how naive some people are.
Without anyone paying for his domain, I had
to move it to Blogger, which is better anyway. A bigger audience.
Donald was Dead long before he acquired any of the videos.
Upload the video. Watch it. Watch it until your heart stops beating. Keep
playing my game. It's just so much fun.

Description is once again irrelevant, as it was uploaded to youtube by one of our members. It was recieved via a file-sharing program, Ares.

i also have a feeling that Jack Q. Pembry owned the second video, the one Gmiller said he didn't know who had. it makes sense if you go over the blog.
I grabbed the audio off the first video and ran it through Baudline and was able to get a look at some interesting harmonics in the tones near the middle third of the clip (you can clearly make out three, need to capture an image for posting online). Of course, I'm no expert and have no way of telling if this is intentional or not. At any rate, it's always possible there's information encoded in those tones (if each tone represented a number, say 0 thru 9). There's a polytone broadcasting mode that you can catch sometimes, if you listen to short wave radio enough, which uses a scheme similar to this (it sounds a lot like someone hitting random keys on one of those old little cassio keybords). I know it's reaching, but anything's possible.

The names in the blog, Jamie, Danny, and so on... They all match to the names of people that have been involved with this.
The author, aparently, over the course of last summer went completly insane as a result of watching the videos.
He also said there were 333 of them.
It tells us to call Donald Wilson, who has two of the videos.
Googling Donald Wilson Wyoming, the first entry is a phonebook entry.
Not sure if anyone has called yet, but I bet that's the next step to call and ask about the videos, and this "G Miller" guy on the blog. Also ask about Robert (the blog mentions him as being with Donald).
Question: The number is in Buffalo, WY (With an address!) but the obit is in Lusk, 200 miles away.

Description: The Wyoming Incident (or The Wyoming Hijacking) is a lesser known case of television broadcast hijacking/hacking. A hacker managed to interrupt broadcasts from a local programming channel (believed to serve several smaller communities in the county of Niobrara) and aired his/her own video. The video contained numerous clips of disembodied, human heads showing various emotions and "poses". The camera position changed often (usually every ten-to-fifteen seconds) and the video was often interrupted by a "SPECIAL PRESENTATION" announcement. This clip is taken from one of these intervals.
The video is mostly locally well-known, and would probably not even be that popular if it were not for the effects it had on the few residents who watched it for an extended period of time. Complaints included vomiting, hallucinations, headaches, etc. While some believed it was paranormal, specialists have determined that the cause of these afflictions were frequencies played regularly throughout the broadcast. In this clip, the frequency being played is somewhere between 17 and 19 hz. This range of frequency, when played for long periods of time, causes the eyes to subtly vibrate, sometimes inducing visual hallucinations.
This video is significant in that is one of the most recent television hijackings. Such actions were rare even in the '80s (search for Chicago Max Headroom Incident) and are even more rare today. The hacker has not yet been caught, and all attempts to trace the video have proven futile.

Description: My brother had quite an interesting collection of underground, bizarre videos. This video (which he only called "3") was his favorite in his entire collection, despite running only about a minute. He never wanted it uploaded to the internet because he was sort of selfish when it came to his rarer videos. He liked the idea that he was one of the few people who had seen this. I found it a year after his death (I had pretty much forgotten about it), in a box filled with videos of his I guess he'd just recently burnt to DVD. I have no idea who made the video and only a vague idea as to where it came from. My brother came back with it one summer after visiting some friends up around Yellowknife.

Video four was posted by people on the forums, as it was received via e-mail, sent to a chosen member of the game, so the description is irrelevant, but here is the text of the email it was attached to;

I grabbed the audio off the first video and ran it through Baudline and was able to get a look at some interesting harmonics in the tones near the middle third of the clip (you can clearly make out three, need to capture an image for posting online). Of course, I'm no expert and have no way of telling if this is intentional or not. At any rate, it's always possible there's information encoded in those tones (if each tone represented a number, say 0 thru 9). There's a polytone broadcasting mode that you can catch sometimes, if you listen to short wave radio enough, which uses a scheme similar to this (it sounds a lot like someone hitting random keys on one of those old little cassio keybords). I know it's reaching, but anything's possible.

What you now think of as a series of video has always existed in some form or another. They have been available as Carvings in stone, scrolls, pamphlets, books, etc. Not long ago I was charged with the task of updating them into a more modern form of media. I contacted a young native in the Northern Territories of Canada who had Strayed from his kin and their beliefs. He was rather Pretentious, but it didn't take much to convince him to work for me. He was very resourceful and already had a large library of programs and sounds. I spoke with him for 23 hours, describing what it was I wanted done. He took notes and complied. Eventually he realized that I was not part of any sort of art project and that his works would not be used in the way he wanted them to be. He became very Irate. He's Gone now. I sold the first three videos myself. You already have heard of the three people who bought them, though there are many connections you may not have made.
There are three questions remaining, one of which I get to choose myself.

What I am updating Serves various purposes. For one, it Inspires many of those who view it in small, subtle ways and those who own it in very strong ways. Modifying people in such a manner helps to guide society down the Path that my people believe is the best. They also Serve as a very important part of our belief system. They help to strengthen us and keep us healthy. They are the most sacred objects in our world. They are the winning card in the Game we play with Humanity.

This is not a question I can answer fully. However, there are some examples I can give you. First of all, the man who Took the moniker Jack Q. Pembry bought the second video. I wouldn't try getting in touch with him. He's Gone. The Robert mentioned on Gregory Miller's blog is not Donald Wilson's stepson. He is Danny's brother. Two separate people sharing a common name, you see. He's still Kicking around, though in all honesty I can't guarantee you his last name is Cable. So, here are the three people who bought the videos from me personally: Jack Q. Pembry (alias), Daniel C., Gregory Miller. You have yet to discuss how the second video got from Pembry to Donald Wilson to Jamie to Youtube. Donald Wilson wasn't himself when he began his little collection, as his Obituary seems to hint. Of course, researching ol' Donald will just lead to a Dead end (literally) for you, which causes me to wonder why no one has investigated the others yet.
I'd be following Jamie's Youtube profile for the next few days. The first chance you get to contact him, do it. I never figured him into my equation, so his presence is, to put it lightly, slightly Aggravating to me, and even I don't fully understand how the video got from Wilson to him, though I have some ideas. There may be a group of Interlopers trying to get my videos to people I would generally consider Unworthy. If you want my help, I suggest you Stop them. Follow my advice about Jamie, and eventually you'll know what to do. In the End, you're going to end up helping me take care of Jamie no matter what it is you truly want to do. Don't make it Difficult for yourself by trying to Misbehave.

The names in the blog, Jamie, Danny, and so on... They all match to the names of people that have been involved with this.
The author, aparently, over the course of last summer went completly insane as a result of watching the videos.
He also said there were 333 of them.
It tells us to call Donald Wilson, who has two of the videos.
Googling Donald Wilson Wyoming, the first entry is a phonebook entry.
Not sure if anyone has called yet, but I bet that's the next step to call and ask about the videos, and this "G Miller" guy on the blog. Also ask about Robert (the blog mentions him as being with Donald).
Question: The number is in Buffalo, WY (With an address!) but the obit is in Lusk, 200 miles away.

A few strange videos started to appear on the internet. The first ones claimed to have been played over pirate TV broadcasts in Lusk, Wyoming, a little town in the middle of nowhere. The residents reported dizziness, nausea, headaches, and slight auditory + visual hallucinations after having viewed the videos.
The videos are creepy, sure, but the TV hijackings were faked so that the story would gain some appeal over the internet and allow the videos to reach more people. These videos are supposed to alter the way we as humans think, so that we can be set on the path to a long existance.
The stories surrounding the Wyoming Incident have allusions to the popular (at least on the creepy thread) shadow people, or as the story states "Dark Children". It also involves greek gods and goddesses, the fates....among other things.
Early this moth some goons on SA were found gloating on their boards about how this "game" was created by them and a bunch of behind the scenes info, as well as logging in on the "in-game" boards as the mod (aka the storyteller) and making stupid posts such as "T'was all for boners" and "Fartz". These posts have sense been deleted and the boards have just now reopened with a post damning the people on SA as liars and gamejackers (people who intentionally fuck with an ARG to mess it up).
The unfiction boards are all about the gameplay and interaction if ARGs and they do not trust that this is a legitimate game, believing that it is just the SA goons on the troll again. I think the game really was hijacked and it is back on track now and they need our help. I am at work right now so I cannot provide a frickin sweet OP, but it will have to do until I can edit it later.
The Happy Cube boards have reopened their registration abilities. Feel free to register if you want to actively participate in the game. If not, I will echo your ideas for you. I am registered as spectr3.
The very state of the world is at stake if we do not help the mouthpiece of Father Paranoia. We will fall into oblivion.

I'm not much into ARGs, so I'm not really sure what the point always is, or if there is one cohesive goal for all ARGs, generally speaking. But, and this is just based on my limited knowledge of this Wyoming Incident and my obsessive nature about Lost, I think it could possibly be some sort of advertisement used for that, dealing with the Dharma Initiative. I know it's dumb to think that everything mysterious found on the internets/in media deals with lost, but the second video made me realize that the general point of the videos seems to be to fix people, or save them in some way. Plus, the introductory pictures seem reminiscent of the Dharma videos, and the freaky sounds/pictures at the end kind of remind me of something that happened recently this season.
I'm not too sure about the entire thing, but that was just my initial reaction. These things always get me mildly interested, but I can never follow them. I'd like to be able to experience one from start to finish, but yeah. Thanks for the post.
