if anyone is his alter ego it's actually Peter

he's said many times the way he writes Peter/MJ is based on his own highschool relationship, where he dated his best friend.

Kong is Bendis the same way Terry Long was Marv Wolfman in Teen Titans. Bendis just toned it down less compared to Wolfman.

Yes but to call it BND for Ultimate Comics is wrong on every conceivable level

Maybe i should have spoiler wrapped on that last post. But other than that, I`m pretty on the ball.
we`re kicked 6 months into a future in UCS where peter does not work at the bugle, he has a MCJob, is not with mj, mj is a student reporter, peter is with gwen, who was dead in the ultimate verse until a few months ago, and The torch is moving in with Aunt May, I`m guessing it`s a weird cougar thing, he`ll soon be pete`s new unca Ben.

We are introduced to a brand new villain UCS in issue 1, who I already don`t care about.

wolverine, cyclops, dr. strange, Daredevil, half the xmen, some of the ultimates, MAGNETO, DR. DOOM all dead.

    FF, there is no ff.

No one but drunk iron man even mentions ultimatum, except for drunk tony as a joke i think.

oh and harry got mj pregnant with a globlin child, kang is the new shield director, icemans on the cover though not in the book, kitty owns a starbucks and her dads being pretty mean to her since she was set up for murder by Jean Grey and is stuck in prison.

Some of these might be lies. but it still has that brand new day smell on it.

Did you even read Ultimatum at all

OH MAN CHARACTERS THAT DIED IN ULTIMATUM ARE DEAD HOLY SHIT

MJ has been a student reporter for a while, Gwen moved in after Ultimate Clone Saga, maybe people's situations have changed since the whole city was drowned six months ago

    You are dumb

Also Kong is the best character in the series

Dude figured out Peter's secret in the third arc

I love that he knew the whole time, and yet respected Pete enough to never say anything to him.

He tried saying something to Flash waaaay back when

And Flash went to kick Peter square in the ass

And Peter took it to protect his secret and Kong got kinda confused and then didn't say anything for a while

Yeah, the only thing I was a little ehhhh about was Peter and Gwen being together, just because I really liked the relationship they had prior to that, as being more like siblings/best friends but I'm certainly more than willing to give it more than one panel of them kissing before judging it as a disaster of BND proportions.

See, I always wanted this dynamic to happen.

I love MJ, and I love Gwen, but there's a lot there for Peter to be attracted to. Gwen is much more independent, less needy, less emotional then MJ. I mean, if anyone is capable of handling his duel identity, it's her.

I mean, hey, "the worst that could happen" is just like a Monday for Gwen.

Gwen is less emotional? She threatened Kong with a switchblade on her first day of school. She pulled a gun on Peter. MJ might be teenage girl crazy, but Gwen is crazy. With the way her homelife has gone it's perfectly justified, but it doesn't make her any less of a danger to herself and/or others.

Well, right. But her crazy meshes with the spidey life style.

This Gwen wouldn't be thrown off a bridge... she'd have kicked some Goblin ass.

It was in his own 90's series I thought. I saw it on S_D and it was like he guilted her into sleeping with him and she had instant remorse. Maybe Munch can clarify things.

There would be some good mutants from recent years to Ultimatize. Hellion, Mercury, they could be nice guest appearances in the Spidey or other Ultimate books from here on out, especially if mutants are supposed to be the big bads again in the Ultimate Universe.

I'll add one more thought to the continuity wonk I pointed out earlier in UCSM #1. I originally got into reading USM by skimming through issue 80 which had a fantastic conversation between the Kingpin and Peter. It was that good. It just annoys me that particular story arc is seemingly forgotten about in the reboot. Now I realize Bendis probably didn't want a complicated explanation on why the Kingpins back but still. All right, thats enough bitchin from me, this isn't the thread for that anyway.
