you guys should probably refrain from having ponies in BYOC... people might mistake your pony for an abandonded contest pony and take it and turn it into me :P

I'm bringing my ponies home and they can stay there. I have enough to worry about at PAX without worrying that my childhood treasures could trot away!

Hey BYOC admins, the BF2 1.5 patch is coming out Sept 1:
    http://blogs.battlefield.ea.com/bf2_2142/archive/2009/08/27/battlefield-2-update-v1-50-is-almost-here.aspx

Will the PAX BF2 servers be running 1.41 or 1.5? It sounds like 1.5 has a lot of nice improvements, but I know that doesn't give much time to deploy and test it on the servers before PAX starts.

Evidently some of the people who are buying tickets havent created accounts on the Intel LANFest site to accept the ticket transfer.

You guys only have until 3 or 4pm today to get this done, its both the responsbility of teh buyer and seller to make sure this is completed.

OK...I have a question with regards to the internet connection. :) I play WoW and I am considering raiding on Saturday night at PAX. Last year I played intermittently and didn't have any connection issues, but I'm a little worried that there might not be enough bandwidth for me to safely raid without causing my teammates a load of hassle. Do y'all think I can do this or will it be too iffy with the number of people we'll have?

Fair enough. Again, I had no issues last year but I also didn't try to raid. :)

Will the WoW tournament be on Blizzard servers or on a local one? That's going to start up halfway through my raid.

    Also, love the pwnies. :)

I wanted to pick up a pony for a size fitting for something special I'm working on in case I'm selected... but it's impossible to find them in-store! Seems Hasbro has changed models to some freaky big-head tiny body ponies.

Yeah they have changed the style to some anime like pony, and jacked up the price. The ones I got are of the older style.

My friend is maybe going to be loaning me his LCD screen so I can use it at the BYOC. I see that the limit in monitor size is 24"... he told me this one was but upon further inspection its a 25.5". I measured it and it has a 24" wide footprint. That would still easily fit in the 30" space allowed. Is that still close enough to be allowed in? Or will there be a tape measure nazi measuring LCDs when people show up? :)

BigRed, His Pwnness, Arbiter of The Lan! Question for you: My ticket transfers are all completed, but I just swapped seats with the wonderful Ms. Awitelintsta using the Intel seat chooser tool. Will you guys be pulling the seating info straight off Intel's servers as we check in, or is there a deadline for seating changes as well? (If so, it might be a good idea to disable seat choosing at a certain time since the Gabe section is currently a big old tile puzzle. Poor little GF-8.)

(In true slacker fashion, my lanbox is on a Newegg truck from Tennessee at the moment! Very excited. Unfortunately I had to scrap plans for an epic gaming-beast-in-an-ammobox mod due to the huegness of the GX275, but oh well. Winning a casemod contest isn't as important to me as having a good pc.)

I would advise against changing seats from this point on. We will be marking each seat (with the persons handle thats sitting there) most likey thats off a list being printed sometime... maybe today (I dont know when its being printed, :P)
If theres a seating dispute come talk to me and ill look at the data on the site, otherwise sit where your name is on the table.

Cool. I figured it'd be one or the other. And one last question, s7arbuck was saying that we should trade barcodes in order to complete the ticket/seat trade, but my new barcode is the same as it always was, just with an additional seat listed below it. Seems more like a social security number and less like a ticket number. Am I correct that no barcode trading should go on?

I was taking a look at the photos I took of the freeplay and BYOC setups from PAX '08 and I noticed the chairs have a bit of padding on them, but are pretty lightweight. Has anyone found the need to bring an extra cushion of the like after a long gaming session?

I'm lacking a bit in the built-in cushion part.
