Posting a tiny WIP shot just to prove I'm not a liar.
Hands suck horribly, face kinda sucks, don't like the boots....a lot wrong with it, really. Lots of ham-handed treatment of things going on.
Going to take a break on it until Sat/Sunday, try to do some lip/hand studies before coming back to this so I can get it right.
(also where the heck are all the people that were jazzed about this contest before)
Edit: why did I draw something with so much damn stuff in it
Edit 2: also is it weird that by pure coincidence 2 of the last 3 contest entries I did involved women wearing eye patches
The pose is horrible. Your pinup girl should be riding that treasure chest like it's got a penis, not like she's looking for the seat belt.
She looks so....static.
I think the big problem is that pinups are all about curves that lead the eye around the body, sort of giving us a tour of all the good bits. Right now your girl is just sort of sitting, musket placed strategically over crotch (?) shoulders hunched, right arm limply dangling. Her arms and legs intersect at harsh angles making her look jagged and uncomfortable, and while she has quite a set, she's not really doing much in her power to show it off. Her pose doesn't say so much "do me" as "do me?"
I have words I could use to describe what you might do to the pose, but instead pictures.
Obviously not an ideal or very creative pose, but I think it kind of gets some semblance of a point across about curves and leading the eye to "show off the goods"
Of course it'll be a cold day in hell before I can give you any useful advice but I've had a few and was feeling frisky
WIP on something I might use for this contest, simple reference put together. I liked the military babe pin up so going for that. Still need to establish a light source, shadows. Really looking for composition noters/critical flaws.
I added a view of the grid I used for the bg. Still not crazy about the wood planks. Really open to a lot of suggestions on this one.
My girlfriend wanted to participate for this although she's not a forumer here. Again, not an official entry but she just wanted to share this with you guys. So, something inspired by this topic.
Yeah there's no background and yeah I rushed the hands and yeah I'm not entirely sure on the black outline.
Also I may try my hand at something involving more firemen if I can not be incredibly lazy.

Lots of .jpeg artifacts, I'd save again at a higher quality.

There happens to be a contest for pin up girls going on.

Cake is a robot. And not a cool one like Rutger Hauer.
I guess this isn't really a classic pinup about patriotism or firemen, but have at it.
I'm gonna link it, though, in case it is NSFW.

Tee-hee.
In short, I had an idea but man I have not been able to execute.

Yeesh. I need to start checking stuff before throwing it online. I also took a moment to clean up the face and some of the lines.
I also just saw McGibs' sketch for his demon pinup and now I feel extremely unoriginal. At least mine is red.
Edit:
may do some more work on it, but for now:
