edited May 2010 in PAX Archive
Are you stuck in the sensory deprevation of Post PAX drudgery?
Do you miss all those entertaining PAX Forum People you met at our Pre-Pre PAX events?
Do you think one month before the event wasn't nearly early enough to start up celebrations?
Are you looking for something to do now that you are free of your PAX Pig Plague symptoms?
Are you sick of these stupid questions and just want me to get to announcing the upcoming events already?

If you answered yes to any of the above questions, then I gladly present to you the Pre-PAX East Edition of the Vancouver PAX Forumer Event Listings: A series of forumer gatherings meant to get us through the rainy drudgery of winter in Vancouver.

For those of you not venturing to Boston for PAX East this March, you can still join us in counting down to PAX East and celebrate March 29th as the official start of next years Pre PAX Prime celebrations.

And, yes, there will be blood. Zombie blood.

ABBOTSFORD RAID NIGHT PART DEUX @ CASTLE FUN PARK - SATURDAY OCTOBER 17TH

Event Organizer: AbsintheMinded

Location: Castle Fun Park in Abbotsford

Time: 7pm - midnight

Pricing: See Website
Some of us still have a bunch of Castle Fun Dollars on our Play Cards that must be spent, so once again we are venturing into the aromatic lands of Abbotsford for a night of Mini-Putt and other foolery. The event will be a free for all, you can choose what events you want to partake in once there. Most likely two or three rounds of mini golf will be had, which is $7.00 per round, but there are group rates if enough of us participate.

We will be carpooling into Abbotsford from Vancouver/Richmond so make sure you have a full carload, if not jump in with someone else's or take a few more folks with you. We're all friendly here. ;)

Pricing: $30 online, $33 at the gate

Just for the hell of it, pardon the horrible attempt at humor. Playland is running Fright Nights again this year, so why not go ride some rides? Maybe even wear a bad costume while doing it.

If, somehow, we get a group of 20 people or more, far enough ahead of time to buy online, I can get about $5 knocked off each ticket.

We need to start adding enough events to fill the four months between October and March so start tossing in your ideas.

We can start with a nice simple dinner at the buffet we went to last month to kick things off, because it was a pretty good meal and easy to plan. It also gives enough time for everyone to get healthy and for Hollywood to put out a movie that won't cause me to convulse if I need to pass over $10 to see it. I think Zombieland might suffice.

Secondly we need to make another trip to Castle Fun Park to try the Jungle Golf course and spend the rest of the money on our Play Cards. Also I'm pretty sure there is no AC/DC concert that night so hopefully our Nordic contingent can join the Abbotsford Raiding Party this time.

Anyone want to add any other events to the list?

Hrm... okay now that the BBQ thread got merged with this one it looks like our events are now going to be listed in post #21 instead of the OP.

Honest D if you can make reference to that in your OP, I'll see if I can get this thread re-modded correctly.

    :P

Yeah having an older thread merged into this one, thus moving the correct OP and the current event listing to post 21 is going to make things a tad akward in this thread. Since the BBQ already happened that older BBQ thread would have been better off locked, leaving this this one for current/future events.... but alas 'tis not what happened.

I sent Moe a PM asking if he can do just that by unmerging these threads and locking the old, no longer valid BBQ thread but haven't heard back yet.

I'm sure Moe will figure something out to make this work.

Or I guess we can make this thread really odd and just have everyone who has a post in the first 20 delete their old comments and replace them with something like:
Due to an unfortunate and unforseen merger, this thread is now under new management: Please refer to Post #21 for correct OP.

Anyway... ACC3SS did you have any new events you wanted me to add to [strike]the OP[/strike] post #21? (see not akward at all) I know you had a few in mind. I was thinking we could look at doing another round of Laser Tag in November, any other ideas?

EDIT: Also Honest D, I can't even change the thread title anymore. Since you ended up with the OP can you see if you can change the thread title to include: (Events Now Listed in Post#21) at the end, so people know where to look?

Yeah, edited the title to include a direction to post 21. I agree that it's odd, merging these two posts. I would have also preferred to see my OP locked, just so that the first post in this thread would be number one.

In any case, thanks for taking the reins on the Vancouver Post-PAX/Pre-PAX forumer events!
