As said, this will be a very vanilla game, and full disclosure. All roles and mechanics will be revealed in the OP.
That said, 20 players- 4 mafia would be better balanced than 5, yes?
At present, there will likely be four kills a night.
That's 20% mafia, so it's all good. 5 would be a wee bit much, but even then it doesn't really fall straight in unbalance if people networks accordingly.
Right, I'm all ready, waiting on the A-OK from Bandwagon.
Although sadly I've lost the PMs I spent goddamn ages making, so several roles which should have been flavour-heavy and awesome now consist of ability lists and win conditions. Blah!

Just a reminder to put me down to run the HEAVY METAL game.

Any time the next slot opens after Wednesday. I'm aware that the Newbie game will probably run for a second, so it'll likely be when CJ is finished.
If it is okay with Edcrab, and the hosts waiting for a mini spot, I had planned on a second "crazy" phase to the newbie phalla. If you would like me to defer the start for a certain period of time, let me know and I will notify the players of our hiatus.
Otherwise my plan is to open up signups for phase two for a full day (accepting anyone who qualifies up to the 30 player cap) and then start right in. Thanks.
I know Daius and Burnage have the next two mini slots(keeping in the GMT week theme) but, I wanted to gauge interest on a boondock saints mini. Mechanically it's ready to go, other than double checking balence.
Alternativly I might wait and run it in late october.
Okay, I'm not getting any additional newbies, and I've even lost a few from the original game (~5 or so).
I had planned on the second phase being larger than the first - probably my first mistake - and I might be able to re-balance to make it smaller, but I wanted to ask if anyone would object to me opening signups to all players regardless of experience.
Edit: I have received permission from Edcrab to open it up to all players provided I wait until the end of tonight to do so. I was not planning on starting phase 2 until tomorrow night, so I think it works out fine.
If anyone has strenuous objections to me running phase 2 as a regular game, please let me know and I will re-balance and revamp as necessary. Otherwise, expect it to be crazy and hopefully fun and interesting.
Apologies for the triple post...but...change of plans.
I do not have enough interest to run the advanced mechanics mini that I want to run with newbies alone.
And it would be discourteous of me to jump in line with another open-to-all-participants mini, when at least one other person has been waiting for an open slot to run a game of their own.
So, what I am going to do is declare this game over and let this thread die down. When the next mini slot opens up (either cj's or Burnage's) I will start a new mini based on the advanced mechanics.
In that game, I will reserve slots for all of the newbies who have currently signed up already, and then open it up to everyone else (with newbies who played in this game getting precedence over everyone else).
This will give me a chance to tighten up the balance, double-check the roles, pre-write some narration, and pretty-up the OP and role PMs.
Sorry for the inconvenience, but I think this is the most fair way to do it, all things considered. Tying up a mini slot for 2+ weeks to run a second game that isn't really newbie-only is a bit selfish.
Plus, it might give some of the newbies who weren't able to play right now (Rawkking Goodguy and SimpsonsParadox) a chance to signup.
So please consider Phallanx: A Newbie Phalla over. I will hopefully return soon with Phallanx 2: Newbie Harder.
Damn, forgot about that. But it was a thought that came to me today. I'm working on mechanics for it right now. Maybe an HP system with unit upgrades. Has it been done before? I wanted to reference it to see what worked and what didn't.

My game is done.

Phase two signups are open. I am accepting players with fewer than 10 games under their belt.

So expect me to ask here, via PM, or both if the person running the main minds if I run my mini.
8-)
I have no idea how you would do it but it needs to be done.

Yeah, sounds like anonymous communication to me, I do like this tagging business though.
