He was A Witcher; a professional monster slayer.
Some might call him...
This is a pretty awesome PC game which lets you take on all manner of nasty creatures, in addition to working with townsfolk(whether befriending them or making lifelong enemies) and most likely bedding every female in sight, from the town gossip to that oddball sorceress that most god-fearing villagers seek to burn alive.
Yeah, it was supposed to be for 360 and PS3, but that was canceled for some reason or other.
So for the moment, it's only for the cool kids.

It's worth noting that The Witcher has an interesting morality system.
Your decisions will count, and eventually, they'll come back to haunt you.
You might decide to kill all those thieves who tried to rob the guy who employed you to guard his trading goods, but what will happen when you meet their S'coia'tael brethren later on, who know you killed them?
Well, you could kill them too, I guess.
The game is a graphical beast, but you can adjust the settings accordingly to get it running on your Windows 3.1 setup* or what have you.
not bloody likely
So there's still plenty means for newcomers to get their monster slay on.
It originally came out some years ago, but now it's available in a more awesome form:
The Enhanced Edition has added quests, a much better localization(the original reportedly had some awful voice acting), and a lot of extras, namely
-Two discs of music
-A short novel
-A fold out map
-A making of disc
etc. So it's worth getting for collectible sake too.
And the music is really awesome.
So discuss, and/or track it down if you haven't.
Because the sequel's on the way, and it looks even better.

I need to complete my second playthrough
I need to finish it.
I still need to finish it someday, though
hell, I didn't get very far in the first place
perhaps a LP will-hahahahahaha
never had the chance to buy the enhanced edition though
accio money
I'm at the third, where the plot hits the ground running.
My V:TM replay stalled me from it, but that's almost done.
You can just download the enhanced edition stuff if you have the regular version.
It's pretty shitty yeah, but it's really about the story.
It's odd, but I got used to it. Killing seven people at once doesn't get old.
Oh, and I should track this down:
The short story was really good, and helps the intro make more sense.
it is wonderfully cheesy
Apparently The Witcher is big in Poland, they even had a TV series!
No, he's quite alive, no matter which ending you get.
You have to get pretty far into the game before you get options that make it not suck.
Geek I think this comic was made for you.
turning auto attack
into not auto attack
not cool
I figure they're called Witchers because of... well. Think of it as a verb.
Geralt never does. He could try to settle down, but it'll end badly.
I heard the protagonist in this game goes around sexing almost every woman in his path. How does he avoid pregnancies and veneral disease?
but infertility is a chronic condition
However, the ring will never leave your finger, and you will be unable to ever describe to another living person what you see.
I'm not sure I follow.
Those cards were just silly...
Maybe I'd play it again sometime if I had time
I believe he is implying that infertility is a disease.
Vader did a song/video for the game (Vader being the biggest polish death metal band around)
edit: whoop half second of boobies at the end, search 'Vader sword of the witcher' on youtube if you want to see it.
cj: You know they're a whole series of books right, not just a short story?
