It's not like it's an adaptation of Dickens or anything...
I'm just going to assume you've never seen Generation Kill, or basked in it's awesomeness.
I haven't, but losing to an adaptation of Dickens is hardly being "robbed".
I just can't abide a fossil like Little Dorrit beating something so powerful and evocative as Generation Kill. It's like Sense and Sensibility beating out Saving Private Ryan. (not a great analogy, best I could do).

oh, we have a thread.
just turned it on in time to see writing team introductions, always the funniest part for me. and a bonus of the big bang theory people doing it.
but I'm just realizing I probably missed a lot of funny... forgot about NPH.
Nevermind, they actually bothered to show the show in the clip reel. That was nice of them.
Edit: They did, Hakke, 2 awards. Dr. Horrible beat them for one. The other.. they're gonna lose, and badly.
oh snap what were the two categories?
I've only been paying half attention
The first was short form alternative media or something. Basically it was the internet award the writer's strike forced them to do.
They were up for Face of the Enemy, Gaeta's mini.
As for the other award, they are up for best Director, I believe, for Daybreak (Pt. 2). Mad Men, Breaking Bad, and a bunch of other heavy hitters are also up for it, so even though it's the final chance to honor them they won't win it. Especially considering that in the preview reel they skipped over the big name nominees like Mad Men, and gave them some footage as a consolation.

That was a nice hiccup through the In Memorium segment.

Personally, I think that shows can be up for, at most, 2 awards across any category. To have 4 of the 5 noms be the same show (WITH THE SAME DAMNED GUY UP FOR ALL OF THEM) is bullshit.

These writers nomination things are great.
What's great is that if you ever see him in an interview he comes off as someone who couldn't kneecap a fly if that fly killed his family.
Considering how close friends it appears Stewart, Colbert, and Conan are, I'm sure they got everyone else involved too.
... Hey, weren't all those noms from New York City (well, Conan used to be)?
Get used to it for a few minutes. They're going to clean up this category like they have the last 3 or 4 years.
Edit: And by "3 or 4 years" I meant 6 years. They've won the variety category since 2002.

Seriously, it was gonna be TCR or TDS and I really can't complain about either choice.
these awards are going to be great
why would they show this clip? good song but so far from the best.
oh many motherlover... that better not win. better songs by the same people.
edit - f. expected.
But really, I was pulling for The Lonely Island's Mother Lover.
I'm digging this. The humor's actually decent. I'm sorry I missed the first part if it was this good.
These Windows 7 commercials are adorable.
Hodgman is twittering during the awards
That's kind of a low blow at the same time as being a high praise.
BEAT'D
Why the hell wasn't BSG nominated for anything

Is 24 worth the time investment? I've heard such varying things and it's in, what, its seventh season now?
Also FUCK YEAH MICHAEL EMERSON WOOOOO
Not even an introduction. Cold like that is tough to do.
Although the Gaeta webisodes kinda blew and Dr Horrible was way better than that...

And yay, Michael J Fox looking good!
... Yeah, BSG isn't gonna win against the finale of ER, to say nothing of the others.
Yup. Told you. FUCK YOU EMMYS.
Come on, upset....
EDIT: Can't win 'em all.
