so there's this game out, from some indie developer, where basically you plummet through a city made entirely of peyote

well, pretty much

it's called AaaAAaaaAAaaaAAaAAAAAAAAAA! A Reckless Disregard for Gravity.

And it is really simple to play, and retarded kind of fun.

You can snag a demo from the official site, and buy it for like fifteen bucks.

Its pretty solid.

More games need a freefall mechanic. Best thing I've always liked about sandbox games is getting to the top of tall buildings and jumping off.

Oh man no... Now the next time someone commits suicide they are gonna blame video games for that too!

I think I came across the antithesis of this the other day... wait, now where did I put it?

Ah, yes: Grappling Hook. Where all there is is a Grappling Hook mechanic. Anyway, try the demo. I'm going to look at this later tonight.

"Ghook" isn't the best short form of your videogame's name, I would think

I thought Prototype did a great job too. The freefall/landing side missions were a lot of fun.

GTAIV wins for being the most hilarious while bailing off the top of the Empire State Building.

Anyway, both this and Grappling Hook look great. I know what I'm doing after work tomorrow.

    I love games like this.

On the other hand, it's odd that really interesting gameplay mechanics like this only ever seem to come from huge Rez fans.
