Holy shit, four drivers get five-place grid penalties as well.
Everything after "holy shit" was gibberish to me.

I ramble about F1 to the chat.

The qualifying was a huge mess. One Red Bull crashed badly enough to require a new chassis in practice so didn't even start, both Toro Rossos, a McLaren, and a Toyota managed to crash out in qualifying, and of those drivers that did manage to set a qualifying time, four have been penalised by being moved five places back in the starting grid for ignoring warning flags (or, in one case, for creating a hazard by trying to nurse a badly damaged car back to the pits).

Well, I'm out. Gonna call the guy I'm picking up the comp from and then gotta pick that up and some groceries. Providing my service provider did their fucking job I might be on later. If not, I shall see folks tomorrow. Night all.

So apparently the Europe/Lisbon Treaty Thread thread is now an abortion thread.

Well you see, Treaties are little more than international law, which is analogous to domestic law which those dirty liberals are trying to use to give everyone Aboritions.

    Simple progression.

I really wish there was a university course here (4th year seminar or grad course) that examined the role of secularism & emotion in public policy making, but this probably lies in the realm of the Philosophy department which means Blech.

Although...this might make a good thesis for my 4th year thesis proposal.

Our politicians tell people that government is going to kill old people, so it doesn't seem ridiculously far fetched in comparison.
