Ah, the smoke of her burning. The first lynching - or should you call it an inquisition - was quick and relatively painless. Of course there was some dissent, someone in the gathered huddled masses crying out to save their own, but eventually one voice grew to silence the others. "Toxic Toys!" it cried. "Toxic Toys!" Someone pulled at her wrist, her hands, and soon the Eye of Ur was crowdsurfing to her death. She was lashed to a pole, hoisted high, and had kindling jammed around her feet. A little fire (no need for vulgarity, just a lighter) and soon the Reconciler lit up like a red candle for all the lands.
As the pyre burned down, it turned out the crowd - or elements in it - had pushed two others into the pile. Egos, Luciferan Fiend and LoserForHireX, Faustian Malefactor were the unlucky sods. Of course, if you looked at the tracks real hard, four or so people had clustered around them, forced in, shut them down and made them into ash. But no one would.
Mostly because they were running for their lives. As the dawn broke out over Los Angeles, three more corpses were found in the streets. Bremen, Cryptic Malefactor was the hardest hit. Some Fallen hit squad got to him first, split him open with flames and fire at the seams. But then some truly deranged fuck found the corpse and screwed it up more, spreading cold guts that turned to dust at the touch down the block and around the corner.
Shalmelo, Ravener Defiler got off a touch easier. Someone filled a group of punks with rage and hatred in their eyes, set them off and pointed them down the street. Like pitbulls with mohawks and tire irons, really. The Ravener put up the good fight but there were too many. Even as they got split up into squad cars the punks were still debating who got his teeth...
And how could we forget Zandracon, Cryptic Defiler. Poor guy, he slept through it all. Looks like his shell was homeless. Boxes of Wild Duck, a castle made of cardboard boxes, trinkets hidden in a stolen shopping cart, the whole nine yards. Still, someone cut him up. The torso - left spiked on a lamppost like the worst French soccer riot ever - had LUCIFER burned into the back. It was kinda cute, actually. Like the brain-damaged lovechild of Salvador Dali and Hieronymous Bosch.
If this was a police blotter, someone would have talked about Kime, B:L, and Last Son getting mugged. But it ain't.
