Well you could animate that Sea Pig. You could easily make a simple rig for it. However when you wanna make a creature and wanna animate it it would be best to figure how it would move in the first place. Look up other creatures and their anatomy when making your own creature so it can move realistically.
After years of searching for the perfect pencil I stumbled upon these at Pearl Arts. The Tombow Mono. Very creamy lead and made in Japan. They only had a couple of different hardness levels but I grabbed them and tried them out. Best pencil I have ever used. I did some research and discovered that they were used by the Animators at Warner Bros for years. I was able to order several more fom Blick.
I like the Tex Avery homage, but I don't recognize the third figure...the beaver or chipmunk? It also kind of throws off the composition with the other two being three quaters view and him being head on.
I love the font work, nice to see a Mr. Cartoon font in there also. The "E" and "L" above that in "hard life" are crazy dope.
Thanks for the crits. Third figure is "Screwy Squirrel".
Yeah, I'm putting almost all of my drawing time and energy into lettering, now. And I'm starting to smell like Sharpies.
It's called "one-shot" sign paint. It's basically sign and auto paint that you thin so you can stripe with it. As far as the shakes, you brace your hand with your other hand and pull the brush fast. There has been a real revival of pinstriping all over the world. It's the slight imperfections that make it preferable to stickers and decals.
I'll have to look up the site. It was from a Kustom Paint store in New York. They are pretty pricey. But, like lettering brushes, if you keep them oiled and stored properly they'll last for years.
