Haaaaaate 10man Heroic Faction Champs - We've been stuck on these guys for a couple of weeks now. Unfortunately our usual 10 man group makeup doesn't have the best setup for controlling these guys early in the fight, but god damn it can be so fucking random.
Are you sending a pet (if you have a hunter or warlock) onto the faction pet (i have always seen the Cat)? Healers will always spam the hell out of it, making it super easy to kill your target... If you dont, we sometimes have our healy shaman /focus Cat and throw the odd damage spell at it to help keep healers attention on it while we burn down the DPS. Another handy thing too is those that can dispell/spell steal do it on the kill target to keep HoTs off them.
Bah: This apperant replacement for me in 25s not showing up... LF decently geared shadow priest for 25 man ToC/Uld/VoA/Ony. Thurs/Fri from 6 to 10 server... Link achievements PLZ :P
Hate: Jaraxxus (25) last night. We have one shot him hardmode but I dunno... maybe we have too many melee since 3 or more of them die to fire... waaaay too many wipes to get him.
Hate2: 25 Faction champs tonight....
Happy: I beat our pally in dispells 351 to 339. He is crazy good and fast for dispells, so I'll take that victory
On the flipside, they also said at Blizzcon that they realize most of the gameplay focus is on endgame stuff rather than leveling, so I can only assume that the 80-85 push will be quick enough to not matter a whole lot. (There's a handful of us that plan on trying to do it in one sitting because we're crackheads like that)
Then again, if the army of alts isn't an indicator, I actually love the questing/leveling process too. <shrug>
i also have the alt army as you do but for me i do it because i enjoy the endgame gearing process and not so much the questing
Faction Champs is easier than you think. It's the opposite strategy of regular mode though. Take out the top two dpsers first before going for the healers. Make sure you have an Arms Warrior or a Wound Poison up though.

Man, I will be quite upset if 80-85 is significantly shorter than 70-80. Going through all the nifty quests and phasing was definitely the highlight of this expansion, not more of the same 5 man dungeoning and raiding.

I did Faction Champs for the first time on 25 man the other day. Was fun I sat there fearing and banishing a tree pretty much the whole time.

I hope they kick it up a notch this time. They really refined things and there was a lot of good stuff in this expansion but in terms of quest design there was a lot of wasted potential there. The things they could have done with Icecrown, the Scourge...really wished they'd done something that completely broke the mold there.
Also...Wintergrasp is how I envisioned WoW when I first started reading about it and contested zones and such.
Hate: Finally had the Spellscribe pop but no cat. Damn them.
It's faster to kill the npcs near the Dalaran Bubble. One of the npcs will spawn more npcs, so aggro him, and then kill everything he spawns. I think I had 3 npcs giving me more npcs to kill when I got the cat.
End on
I wish that someway, somehow, that I could save every one of us

What cat are you talking about?
Black Tabby.
It does drop off of spellscribes, but those are rare spawns.

OH, not in northrend. You mean in Hilsbrad Dalaran area

Yes, the big ol' bubble.

I didn't notice the Bubble while leveling my Mage in that area, sure there was a pink aura over the Crater but nothing that blocked you from going down into the area.

It's still there, but I guess it's hard to see if you don't look at the right angle, and yeah, it doesn't prevent you from piercing it.
I probably should have just have called it the crater in the first place, I suppose, since most people might find that a more obvious description.

RAGE!: I got desserter debuff in a AB.... it was the last leg of the bg. I jsut defended farm and the horde was attacking stables. I get the afk debuff... 1 min to engage in battle... i didn't make it in time.
Seriously BG's need some sort of revamp... I was top 10 in killing blows and DMG....

It happened to me in AV once. We were about 1 minute from losing the AV, I had just died, so I ran up to the stormpike GY flag, parked myself, and went to use the restroom. When I came back I was out of the BG having been afflicted with the deserter debuff.
I have no idea what spurned that.

me either... it was the first time that happened to me as well. But from what a friend said it was probably someone dual boting and mass afk spaming. Since I wasn't the only in that match it happened to...
I have found a way to counter some of the raid emo though; I trade people Tasty Cupcakes. It at least gets a laugh, and the icon for the Happy buff is hysterical. I need to make some bad clams to trade to the next person who vent rages, it'll be so good.
Haha. I randomly trade cupcakes to my friends sometimes but I've never tried to make a point with Bad Clams. Would probably just lead to even more emo rage.
I guess I should be happy that at least the DPS warrior who gquit this week has so far been the only person to seriously be a little bitch about going to Ulduar for stuff. He was like "I've been doing Ulduar for six months." No shit. I've been doing it just as long as him. I don't want to go there either unless perhaps we were going to work on Alone in the Darkness, which we aren't (sigh, title is still up for grabs on my server and top Alliance guild is busy wiping to Anub like we are).
Sad: Guild redid Ulduar hardmodes tonight while I couldn't come, to get people drakes. We're not redoing some of the more pain in the ass ones (Firefighter/3Knock/One Light) anymore now, so since I lack 3xKnock still I'll not get my 310% mount.
If it's any consolation, Blizzard has stated several times that they'll give a month warning before the mounts go away, if they ever go away. Those achievements are pretty easy to get now, it shouldn't be a problem for people decked out in ToC gear to go finish even the harder ones for stragglers before they go away.
Happy: Group went fuck it when I told them I hadn't done much TOC 10 before, they liked my gemming/gear choice. Instance was smooth as silk and now I have the achieve and an upgraded dodge trink.
Happy: Did 10 man firefighter and hard mode Vezax. Just need 1 light yogg now.
Happy2: Logged on to my alt in Silverpine and booked it past a level 70 to nab the Dalaran Spellscribe. Killed it, got the Black Cat, and then got the 75 pet achievement on my main.
edit: I will say that the added dps from ToC gear makes firefighter much easier. I did it before and after and the extra dps makes things much more reasonable. Makes the fight more fun too honestly as it makes it way less random.
Hahahaha: Went from 164 blue gloves to 245 epics on my alt warlock thanks to Koralon 25 man. Cue the other warlock in the raid "But his DPS sucked!" "Exactly why I need better gear!"

I only got firefighter10 recently as well, and I don't think we could have done firefighter without bloodlust without the extra gear. Actually, come to think of it, our group really wasn't stacked for raid buffs at all.
We had about 30 seconds remaining on the timer, but we had to go through 3 head drops.
End on

Yes, the big ol' bubble.
The huge Crater. Since 3.0
There's still a bubble there. :P

But at this point it's gonna be a pain in the ass to replace him, and we go and we kill him.
Happy: Horseman's Reins drop, everybody rolls
Happiest: Rolled 100, beating the lying druid's 93.
HATE: Still no Deathcharger's Reins from Baron Rivendare.

I guess I'll finish leveling Tailoring now, and then save money for whatever goldsinks that are planned for Cata.

That's hillarious.
That's the most elaborate and expensive way to be an asshole I've heard of yet.
Happy, very, very happy: Consolation prize of a certain Headless Horseman's mount.

We do like 20+ summons a day. Two years. I have yet to even see a mount drop, let alone win the roll. -_-

Killing your kind (hunters) is fun.
Off to Northrend and soon, i'll be heading back to Azeroth to get the T0.5 quest line doen. Soulforge looks great on a Draenei female.
And I got the tanking shield off Anub! Go eat a dick, Royal Crest.
Now just to replace my Minion Bracers and I'll be set.
