Hate: When the fuck did they change the Wintergrasp cannons to be unable to turn all the way around? Without that, they're are HUGE blindspots wherein people can get and wreck your shit without you being able to defend yourself unless you get out, and as a Resto druid, let me tell you, if I'm getting out of that seat it's because the match is over, the cannon/tower was destroyed, or I'm going to flee for my goddamned life. I'm sure as hell not going to pop out for the honour of becoming free honour to some frisky rogue or mage.

Also, the faction change appears to have been the final nail; most of the Alliance on my realm appear to be Pants On Head Retarded when it comes to defending (though it doesn't help that we almost always have tenacity; a nice boost but not enough to account for the extra warm bodies taking objectives). It seems the only way we can win Wintergrasp is by attacking. It's a rare day indeed that we actually hold the zone for two rounds back to back, though the Horde seem to do it with some regularity.

Oh well, until I need more shards for the final set of shoulders (probably leather, so they can be used by the druid, shaman, rogue and hunter, despite the rogue and druid already being 80) it's a non-issue, and that won't be for a while given that I've got the cloth wearers under way, and it'll take a good long while to finish up the plate wearers after them.

Happy; WoW'athon '09 led to a 77 Mage, a 71.5 Warlock, and the hope that I might wrap up my third 80 in the next week or two, depending on how much time I can sneak away to dedicate to the endeavor.

Happy: It was noticed in time to keep everything but 10 Hearts of Darkness in the guild bank. Can't say the same for his banks, though. Pretty much all of his characters are now running around in tier gear and level 60 epics.

Wonder if they fell for the whispers. I been finally getting them:

    Vltxot whispers: Hello!
[GM notification] Your account has been suspended please visit (some random site that had no idication of Blizzard in it) for further details.

Happy: 97 mounts. Wintersaber I still need to get and argent mounts (5 total) soooo close!

Hope: Herald of the Titians tonight! Not that our group been failing at it, we one shot algalon. It's just there are a couple of people who failed to keep their old gear when the GL said for the last oh...2 months we will be doing this and reminded people pirior to ToC. The last 2 times we planned to try for this they weren't ready so finally last week we told them to get the right ilvl gear or sit out. Can't wait to be done with that so i can clear bag space!

Happy: Rogue hit 80 finally, and have been running reg toc quite a bit, getting cheap boe epics and doing quests that reward worthwhile blues.

Hate: Yep, "blues? you aren't anywhere near geared for heroics" finally happened.

lol: ToC reg, invited an epicced out healer and the tank has 25k health... "he better have more health than that for this place"

Curiosity: Playing mutilate at the moment and while my single target dps is pretty much what I expected for the gear i have (2500~), trash dps (which is apparently most important) is obviously getting blown away. I wonder if its worth respeccing combat just for trash fok spamming, because its pretty painful right now as assasination.

Can I just get a breakdown of the week? Like free loot night is which day? Oh I'll be there!

We have the exact opposite problem; Everyone only wants to do progression. We have difficulties trying to get people to come help farm out a few more of the normal mode trinkets.... They're really barely worse than the heroic versions people, and they stack!

Well I'm not gunna /gquit just yet. We haven't completely hit a brick wall. Every Sunday we are making progress. I'm sure we could do it even with some of the deadweight (its really only 2-3 people). But I think what happened is that Reg-ToC25 lulled people into complacency.

Happy: Finally worked up the courage to try and get a PUG for ToC 10. I explained to the group that invited me that I have never done the fights, but had watched the videos/read the strats multiple times, as I'm into that sort of thing. They decided to give me a shot and we cleared the instance no problem. Everyone was impressed with how I handled it considering my limited hands on experience.

Happy x2: got the tank shield off Anub and enough badges to get my second t9 peice.

Going on the easy days and not showing up for the hard ones is the most douchebag thing a raider can do.

While I agree with this, I'd say extreme examples of people stretching far beyond their reach shouldn't be a reason to utterly waste a night per week.

If an encounter requires 75,000 dps sustained, and my group is putting out 72,000, well then we need to look at enchants/gems/rotations and maybe even swap up the class balance a little.

If they're putting out 50,000, there's too much dead weight and likely going to be a waste of the next 3-4 hours.

I'm all for groups reaching far and hopefully exceeding even their own expecations, but when your shadow priest has 2% hit and your rogues are wielding levelling rares, several warning flags pop up. There are times when, mechanically (based on encounter or classes) that no matter how good a player or group is, you cannot do something, at which point your time is being wasted trying to force that square peg into a round hole, as opposed to doing something like older/other content wherein you can gear people up and hopefully train them a bit to reach for the extra threat/heal/damage per second cap that's required to do the harder stuff.

When I raided hardcore, I participated in the progression and the farming nights with enthusiasm, but I was also part of the Officer core, so I was able to give direct input as to what content we would be attempting for that evening or week. The choice to take a ragtag group into the depths of hell and potentially waste literally 100 man-hours of time is not an easy one to make, and beyond the group itself falling short, it sounds like a potential failing of the leadership not to recognize or do something about that.

Basically there's blame to go around all over.

To terrify you more, P1/2 are laughably easy compared to P3.

Hate: .005% wipe on Heroic Anub last night, he had like 100k health left. If only I smote harder and healed less. (Not a joke, half the healers DPS P1/2 since we're really only there for P3, and yeah fight mechanics)

    Yes, yes they are.

We also use 2 add tanks (1 Pally 1 Warr) vs a single tank strat: Single tanking *is* doable but feels horribly RNG... They have issues with threat on all 4 even with tricks and such, and if 1 add gets behind it's game over. 1 tank seems like something to go for if there's low DPS and/or kiting issues with 4 patches; It's so much more controlled with 2. We're still a good 45 seconds off the enrage timer with 3 tanks ad 7 healers, just because DPS can go all out right away.

Going on the easy days and not showing up for the hard ones is the most douchebag thing a raider can do.

If you go on a raid and fail each time because half your raid can't figure out how to move out of a black circle, and this happens 4 or 5 times in a row it might be time for that raid to look at doing something that isn't as complicated as moving out of a black circle.

If the half of the raid that is staying in the black circle can not figure out that maybe raiding isn't for them, it is time to go look for a different group to raid with.

Not everyone is going to succeed at the hard mode stuff.

My problem is that I really like the core members of my guild, but we've got some dead weight that is causing us problems and I don't know how to deal with them. I have a feeling if we stray too far from our casual roots we'll lose some of the good people, and some of the dead weight are IRL friends with other officers.

I pug with some of the larger guilds on the weekends, and I don't think I would really enjoy spending 3+ nights a week with some of those folks.

Oh well, at least I can actually see all the content in 10 man normal modes.

hate: tanking Archavon with a PuG offtank. The way I always do the fight is to start it off, then when I get grabbed and the OT taunts, I let him keep it until he gets grabbed. Its not like we need my ridiculously over-geared toon to always be tanking just for Archavon.

The hate, however, is when that tank has Archavon leap to smash down and create his dust cloud that gives all melee the 50% miss, and then RUNS IN AFTER HIM, then proceeds to tank him in the cloud. Then, when I taunt the boss to get him out of the cloud, he gets all butthurt about me taunting off him.

Second big add spawns, offtank just standing there and MT is not back (The OT was assigned to first big add, MT second). So I go run up and pick up the 2nd add, saving the healer it was charging for. Then more whelps spawn and I ask the OT to take care of them since I'm doing his job. He doesn't, we wipe and somehow its all my fault for not picking up the whelps. Did I do something wrong here?

Thanks for reminding me; any tank in the group that is not actively tanking something or preparing to tank something is just sub-par dps.

The moment it became "not your fault" was when the other tank sat around with their thumb up their ass, and I hope you said as much in raid chat.
