It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone. You count on it, rely on it to buffer the passage of time, to keep the memory of sunshine and high skies alive, and then just when the days are all twilight, when you need it most, it stops. Today, a Sunday of rain and broken branches and leaf-clogged drains and slick streets, it stopped, and summer was gone.

    Man, the fights that will take place between Philly and NY fans are gonna be EPIC. The NY Post and Phil Inquirer going back and forth trading cheap shots is authentic US Northeastern swagger at its finest!

    Phillies are gonna sweep the Yankees though.

    I hope the guy that was a really good Cleveland pitcher but got traded because Cleveland probably couldn't afford to pay him "market value" (because who the fuck stays on a team they purportedly like unless they are making the same money as God) wins his game tonight.

    That's what Hockey Season is for! =)

    I'm kind of excited because it's the World Series, but ambivalent because I don't really have a stake in either team. Dad likes the Yankees, so I grew up liking them... but we're from Detroit, and every game I went to at Tiger Stadium as a kid was pretty much a slaughter... so I also hate the Yankees.

    And then, there's the Phillies... neat?

    Should at least be a good series, though.
