So I've spent the last two hours just looking at photos of ancient cities, deserted cites and towns, uncanny libraries, and otherwise bizarre architecture. Normally I'd say I've wasted the past two hours, but it just doesn't feel like it.
I've actually been doing tons of photography lately but haven't posted any... I've been too addicted to Demon's Souls to do much.

Need some quick help.
Please tell me how old you think these two girls look and what you think I could do to make them look more pretty. The client is being a little vague and painting young girls doesn't come easily to me
Is it my rough application uglying things up?
You figured it out already. Just soften up the skin ( airbrush and a blendy tool) and use a more warm palette. Also echo that green a little more. Women are soft and supple. Young girls are even more so. And ask your employer for the exact age range. That would help you allooootttt.
Your anatomy was spot on I didn't really do much to alter it. Just the application of everything else was With women you focus on whats attractive about them and exaggerate it. Soft skin? Make it look even softer. Pretty hair? Pretty that to the exteme. Especially the eyes, always make that the brightest and biggest part of your focal point. Everything else can be sfumato'd out. Loom helped me alot with some good pro-tips so cred goes to him here.
Now I'm off to make a sandwich and d my errands for today! Hopefully I helped some if not that was very fun.

I'll admit, that was a pretty funny thread for a bit, if I remember correctly.
Unfortunately, every time someone in H/A tells me I'm "full of win" a mod goes and infracts me for the exact same reason.
Sweet goodness, I have a lot of work ahead of me for winter break! I just made myself a rough list of work I need to get done for me to have a happy portfolio.
Looks like I'll be spending a good chunk of time doing 3D stuffs...which is cool, I like doin' thats. The 3D stuff won't dominate my portfolio, but I absolutely want some in there to show I can at least model low-poly things, layout UV's and texture hard and organic surfaces, and do some ZBrush detailin'.
I'm taking an easier concept art class in winter (easier than any other concept art class I've taken, in that the time we're given to complete each assignment is fucking beeautiful, like...an entire week for thumbnails...which means everything I produce in this class better be freakin' stellar). And hopefully (if my illustration chair stops being dumb) PORTFOLIO CLASS. Which means...an entire class to do *whatevers I wants*.
Otherwise, I end up taking Portfolio, Self-Promo (which is going to be a joke for me, unless I can get a professor that understands I've already made a website, personal logo, business card design, and amassed a huge list of potential employers) AND Book Illustration all at once in Spring quarter. Taking 3 studio courses, for anybody, is considered pretty damn intense...taking ANY of these three classes is considered very intense...taking all three at once? Christ. I know what level I can function at, and I know that I'm capable of handling a larger-than-normal workload, but even the idea of taking those three classes at once makes me nervous. Hopefully that chair of Illustration (whom I have explained this to) will be all, "o, snap, here's your Class Overfill approval".
I sent him one already and he was like "OLOL DENIED CUZ WE OPENED UP A NEW PORTFOLIO CLASS" and I sent him an email with the explanation above, also saying "OLOL BUT IT'S FILLED UP IMMEDIATELY, JUST LIKE THE OTHER 4 PORTFOLIO CLASSES".
I will have the angriest/saddest/rgahrgah-est face on my face if he refuses this and I have to take all three of those classes together. I will have much more work than THIS quarter is even throwing at me, and that's fucking ridiculous. And the last quarter before I graduate!!? Oh, you mean the quarter I'll be frantically looking for a job!?!? Yeah...yeaaaaaaah.......noooooooo...

and now I have to go to [OLOL] Photoshop Class. He wanted us to make a few new PS brushes, and keep them in a folder...I'm just sending myself the 12+ brush set I made last year, heeheehee! This class is so wonderfully simple. SO glad I decided to take an easy 3rd class this quarter, goodness!
