good ideas everyone, thanks. I think I'm gonna talk simply about the transition from silent to talkie. then if I don't have to go tomorrow I can get more in depth over the next week.
I probably won't go, but I have to be ready just in case. I landed in the worst spot of the order, dead center.
but at 5-7 minutes each plus like 8 minutes of critique and a 10 minute break in theres, that's about 160 minutes before it'd be my turn, ... and the class is like 2:45. so unlikely but if someone is absent or some such... need to have something prepared.

now that No Country for Old Men(the film) has been out for a while, I bet there's some ace analysis on it. Anyone read anything nice? And have a link handy? Because I'm lazy?
i did watch no country for old men though and let me tell you there was one part of that movie that scared the shit out of me
the coens love facial closeup shots that let us see the character's line of thought through their expression and so on
but at one point chigurh is sitting in that abandoned trailer and we get a thirty-second closeup of his face

i mean occasionally he smirks but that was just ecstacy on his face during that sequence
that and the way he's so methodical about everything
loren visser from blood simple is a sort of precursor to him but visser's just a psychopath who kills because he needs to do it and doesn't care if someone else dies, chigurh makes a lifestyle out of it
