This isn't an anecdote, this is what several dermatologists have recommended for the dwellers in the deep.
Put vitamin E on it followed by a hot compress for 15 minutes every night before you go to bed. They'll stop hurting so much and clear up in a couple of days.

They go away in a couple days anyway.
I've had them last a week, as have my cousins, so for us going away in a couple days is good. Of course, when we get a deep dweller it's usually a monster half the size of a ping-pong ball, so that may make some difference. It may work faster for the smaller varieties.
It figures that work gets all batshit nuts for a few minutes that I miss stuff like Garfield. I watched the Halloween special with my son the other night. I forgot how scary some of the things looked in that. Some kids who watched that were probably spooked.

Sorry, I should have mentioned the obvious. Whenever using a saline compress, moisturise the shit out of the skin afterwards. But osmosis will draw a lot of the shit in zits and cysts out from under the skin and really helps clear them up much quicker. This is what my dermatologist said, although admittedly his last name was Wang.
