thats right ladies and gents, the new season of Deadliest Catch on the discovery channel is set to start Tuesday April 3rd at 9pm est.

anyone else a fan of this show?

i really dig it. The previews for the new season i think show people dying in like the first few days of the season, geeze.

there is going to be a online game for it here. From what the press release said it was going to be a fantasy team sort of thing, but the site just makes it look like a little flash diversion... sadly i'd love to have a fantasy crab league.

but yeah, SIG HANSEN WEWT WEWT!

My stepbrother did offshore tuna fishing, which is also pretty deadly.

Now he is a logger...which isn't leaps and bounds better.

They pay you out the ying-yang to do that stuff, though.

Special mention for FutureWeapons, but did not make Top 3 due to ex-Navy Seal host guy's over-the-top routine.

    Mythbusters 100% sucks.

Deadliest Catch & the Everest mini-series are awesome because these things are actually happening. People are actually risking their lives to do things. The mythbusters are just wierd older men who like to test retarded myths.

like, if it's on, I'll watch it

but I'm not going to go out of my way to watch it like I will for Mythbusters

The upsell to some of the busting of myths is a stretch sometimes. Like the cherry-picker trebuchet thing. Total let-down.

man has nobody else ever seen conenctions?

It was fucking brilliant. The dude would show you something simple, like a piece of celuloid film or something, and then take you back like 600 years to when someone discovered how to make a limelight way up on some irish mountain, then talk about billiard ball coatings that sometimes exploded and how they led to the invention of gun cotton and then how that led to this and then this led to that and then some guy was working on improving this thing here and then discovered this other thing on accident and all of a sudden they all come together and that is how come you have porno. You're welcome.

it was so good. Like this episode description:
Often, materials discovered by accident alter the course of the world. In the 1600s Dutch commercial freighters controlled Atlantic trade routes. Competing British lines induced America to produce pitch to protect hulls of their royal vessels. This arrangement lasted until 1776, after which a Scottish inventor tried to produce pitch from coal tar. By the time he succeeded the navy was using copper instead. Subsequent experiments with coal tar yielded gaslight lamps, waterproofed garments, a brilliant mauve dye that established the German chemical industry and nylon, the first of the miracle plastics.

    absolutely fascinating.

Man Vs. Wild is a really good show on Discovery. Bear Griz or whatever his name is, is a hardass. Catches fish and bites the fishes spine out to kill it, then he eats it raw. So much better than surviorman.
