I have pretty bad eyes. I think they said that one eye was like 20-200 or something. I wear contacts though cause I am vain. I also have a weak spot on the retina of my left eye. The doctor told me that is will break some day and I will start to see flashing spots in that eye. I dread that day cause I have a problem with other people doing stuff to my eyes.
I can touch my eyes and stuff but I freak out if anyone else tries to do anything to my eye. Because of that, going to the eye doctor is fun. When he tried to put my contacts in for the first time, my eye refused to open.

Speaking of rentals, I rented Marie Antoinette the other day and I was massively unimpressed. In fact, just watching that movei made me like Lost In Translation less. I thought she had just done a good job with LiT since the style really did fit very nicely with the story, or lack there of. But after seeing this and realizing that she apparently only has the ability to make crap in that poorly paced, awkwardly scored way, I just lose a lot of respect for her. If there's one thing her style definitely does not translate well into its historical films.
Wait wait wait. So you're saying that her style is LOST when she TRANSLATES it into an historical film? Hmmm?? Hmmm????

My vision now is pretty keen, but judging by my family history, but the time I hit 35 or 40 I'll need some light glasses

I'm already wearing contacts (mostly due to astigmatism and the fact that I stare at a computer all day long), but I think if there's one thing I have to hate about my eyesight is my extremely poor vision at night.

no, I'm saying that Coppola's style sucks as a historical film. Its not even a style, its her sucking and only knowing how to do one thing.
"Here's this guy who really wasn't very nice, and you didn't like him at all. You're sorry that he died, but you don't think you feel sorry enough, and you're worried that you're not as nice a person as you thought. The truth is that you are nice, or you wouldn't be feeling bad at all right now."
My eyes are terrible. I have my prescription somewhere but I don't remember it off the top of my head. All I know is that I'm wearing the super duper ultra thin lenses or what have you and they are still 1/10" thick (yes, I just measured them) in the middle and more than twice that on the sides.
Although apparently they've stopped getting worse and I could have laser eye surgery now but lol monies.

I've worn glasses since the summer after second grade.
the teacher pretty much knew it was coming after I brought little fold-out binocular things to class so I could read the blackboard.
now I don't even think about it. I've had them so long they are a part of my face. I couldn't imagine not wearing them.

I've got those contacts that you can leave in overnight for up to 30 days straight. It's pretty nice not having to take them out every night.
I've had contacts since about 7th grade, since I was incredibly self-conscious during the period in 6th grade when I got my glasses, and since then I've just stuck with contacts. Don't know if I'll ever switch back to glasses or what.
I'm pretty sure I'm incredibly horrible with doing contacts clean and healthy and whatnot because I'm supposed to switch sets every month, and I have been forgetting that so often that I've had the year-long supply for about two years and have like three months of contacts left.
That's pretty much all the eyewear related stuff I have to say. Carry on.
I wish I had gotten contacts in High School
I just didn't think of it
It would have made a lot of things easier
on a related note
has anyone lost their glasses and their first thought is wishing you had your glasses
so you could look for your glasses?
every single time
also when i'm replacing a screw in 'em
The number of times I've done both these things is almost depressing.
Yeah I'm so totally blind without assistance that whenever I would drop my glasses I have to stop moving all together and call out for help until someone comes and finds them for me. I didn't used to do this but then I stepped on a couple pairs and crushed one with my hands when bending down to look. Now I just have contacts, though, which is real nice. Plus the ladies like my eyes :P
My dad and my little brother have glasses and my mom needs light ones, but when I went to the optometrist he said my vision was perfect. I guess I got lucky.

Can't decide if I should be half bummed out or not.
I mean I really disliked the kid but then I think about his family.
I bet my precription is stronger than yours. I wouldn't even be able to read the E.
Haha, this is depressing the crap out of me now
used to wear glasses but my eyes got better

Need some stuff designed or printed? I can help with that.
I actually think glasses would complement my facial features quite well if I got the right pair

that said, i think my eyes are -6, whatever that means
hey maybe ill think about looking at some new frames for style
i should get new lenses anyway, these ones are scratched the fuck up
but i dont get how you would end up with really thick lenses unless you are being hella cheap
refractive indexes shrink thicknesses
man i can barely read that without glasses. I need -4.25 lenses in each eye
t. Dr. Chin:
A+++ would allow to shoot in face with lasers again
they won't let me do it yet because my eyes are still changin (getting worse to be exact) every time I'm do for a checkup they drop another -.25
horray for "let's wait and see" doctors
20 bucks says by the time they stop changing doctors will say "it's too late to fix his eyes now"
That's pretty common, no point in blowing $3k to get your eyes fixed, just to have to do it again a year later because your eyes aren't stable yet.
Btw, if you are in the NW, I can recommend the restore vision centers. Went from 20/1600 to 20/25.
In one eye is a -6 and the other is a -6.25
I don't know what that means, but the dude I handed the prescription to at eyemasters almost fainted when he saw it
If there's one thing visiting an optometrist confirms, it's that. No wonder I'll never wear contacts.
