    for those of you whom have never taken math past 6th grade . . .

    at the time of moe's posting we were up to 24 Santas so . . . Santas = 24

    according to moe's post
    S = Santas
    s = Santees

    S = s

    so if Santas = 24 and S = Santas then S = 24 . . with me so far? good

    we know that S = s so then s = 24, and since s = Santees. Santees = 24,

    so you see boys and girls, the number of Santas will always be equal to the number of Santees because that is the god damned point of Secret Santa.
    isn't algebra fun! :mrgreen:







    anyway. . . may as well count me in . .. sounds like loads of awesome

    But how you placed the number in there, Mike, kinda doesn't make sense. 'Cause now s > 24 = S > 24.

    So, if you want it all equation-like, it should be this...

    S = s

    s = x

    x = Number of Folks participating.

    Therefore...

    S = x = s

    Wait, how the hell can 1.38062 * 10^−23 log ( N! / ∏(i, Ni!)) = x = <x2 - x1, y2 - y1>?

    I'm not sure if I should be amazed if someone here actually knows what that first equation is or not

    Everybody remember, you have to send me your information in the format as stipulated in the OP by November 14 to get added to the list. I only mention this because several people have expressed interest, but have not sent me a PM with their info. Any names I do not have by Nov 14 will not be added to the proverbial hat.

    Also, if anybody needs to back out, please try and tell me before the Nov. 14 deadline. There's no shame in backing out, there is shame (and worse) in not buying a gift for your Santee.

    I think the person you buy for and the person you receive a gift from are different. If it were just a gift swap, I think that it would pretty much be the worst "secret" ever.

    So technically he only has to buy one gift. :P

    It's up to you to leave hints of your interests and the types of things you want/have in your signature and the content of your posts. Also, leaving your twitter public and other things to make it easier for your Santa to cyber-stalk you to find out what you're interested in.

    Less than a week left for signups/dropouts. Next weekend I'll set up the random generator and shoot out e-mails to everybody. I may send out a preliminary e-mail a day or so before, just to make sure people are watching their in-boxes. Start updating your wishlists.

    I'm going to start a fresh thread once assignments are out so people can post links to their wishlists and the like. Also, don't forget Amazon has a universal wishlist that allows you to add things from anywhere on the internet.

    In the email you sent out, you said you would find out who we are "paired" with. You didn't mean we are going to get the person who has us, right? It's going to be more of a loop, not a set of pairs, right?
