I mean I could see why he doesn't wanna waste time on it.
The man's a PC developer first and foremost, and if people want to buy the inferior 360 versions as well just to bolster sales, hey it won't take a lot of work. I get that, financially it makes sense for him not to develop stuff for PS3.
But when the man comes out and says that it's just a totally shit platform to develop for, it's hard not to laugh at him when seeing the amazing things that are being done on the system, both first and third-party (but especially first).
And then to see him still putting out stuff on his five-year-old engine that looks like ass at this point.
well to be fair, porting a strictly multiplayer game to the ps3 is sort of a fool's game when it's also on the 360
maybe when the userbase catches up on the ps3 it won't be but as it stands right now you're going to reach a lot more people on 360
and even people with both systems who are paying for live will get it for the 360, because they're paying for it so they're sure as hell going to use it
it's a catch 22 and it heavily favors the 360, at least for the moment

also, the ps3 is really hard to develop for, if everything I've heard from just about any developer who isn't sony 1st or 2nd party is true
which is why more companies should develop the ps3 version first and port that to the 360
of course I am in no way qualified to tell you if that would actually help or not
It works for EA. They did this with both Mirror's Edge and Burnout Paradise, and it worked out wonderfully. Mirror's Edge has parity on both consoles, and Burnout Paradise actually looks and runs better on PS3 (although the 360 version is just fine).

The PS3 is only a few million behind now, and gaining. Worldwide that is, it's probably still selling like AIDScakes in America. Not sure how that translates into PSN and Gold accounts though.

well the other thing there is, there's gotta be a lot of overlap
and so many people will just sit there and let microsoft charge their card 7 bucks a month, and not really care, but they will recognize that they are paying for it, and thus continue to buy multiplayer games for the 360
I can't wait for a ps3 exclusive game that has multiplayer I care about, so I know there'll be a lot of people from here playing it
maybe uncharted 2 but I won't be picking that up for awhile

You and me both.
Only multiplayer game I do on PS3 is Rock Band, and everyone here plays on 360. I fucking love Uncharted 2 to death but the multiplayer doesn't do much for me. I'd say what they need is a good exclusive first-person shooter, but both Resistance games sucked.

That thread is fucking hilarious.
All the PC die-hards are now adamant in their belief that the game will suck since they're being "shafted" on it.
Maybe I will do it soon.
This really doesn't look as good as I kept hoping it would be.
Add to OP, plz! W00t!
It's funny though.
He said a funny thing.
We should laugh at the funny thing he said.
Yes?
Gabe Newell admitted as much two years ago.
But his comments roughly translated to "I'm too lazy to actually work with the system, it's not an easy port-job from PC like it is with the 360."
basically
the ps3 is not known to spout doughnuts into your lap
Its bulbous frame makes Gabe Newell feel all self-concious.

Nah, it still looks really good
I just won't buy it for a couple years until it hits super budget price

I don't really like competition, but I do really like fighting games, and those can't exactly be co-op
can't wait for the patch for tekken's scenario campaign though, because fuck I need help with nightmare train

Didn't mean you, by the way, Olivaw.
It was more towards the beginning of said thread, I think the fuckers have finally started to calm down.
